<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Sophomore ID Camp is always one of my favorite events because it is strictly about development and seeing what players have added to their game. Watching players come back from year one and show growth in different areas shows us this basketball thing is serious to them. With multiple 5v5 games to evaluate, we also get a good look at who can consistently impact the game through scoring, defense, playmaking, and making the right plays. Below is a quick snapshot of what the players from Team 7 showed us last Sunday.</h3>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>There wasn't a drop in effort with this kid. Though she was on a stacked team with heavy ball handlers, Harding still found ways to insert herself into possessions and make an impact without needing the ball in her hands.<br></em></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>Every team needs a player like Sweeney, a lockdown on the defensive end and an absolute pest of a defender. She drew at least two 5-second calls on her matchup simply because she knows how to move her feet well. A strong 3&D player who brings consistent pressure defensively and can still make an impact on the offensive end when her opportunities come.</em></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>Good length and energy when Edinger is on the court. She's not a player who hogs up one space, and she does a good job moving around the floor and staying involved in the action. <br><br></em></p>

<p><em>The size doesn't slow down how active she is when she's guarding. Reese is in your face and has no problem being physical with her matchup. She does a good job using that physicality without taking herself out of the play, and her activity makes it tough for offensive players to get comfortable.</em><br></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>On the drive, she is creative and isn't afraid to dish or score through contact if it's there. She does a good job reading what the defense gives her and adjusting once she gets downhill.</em><br><br></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>On the boards, Kassidy was not afraid to get in the mix ups or chase down the long ones. Those types of players are always needed. Her effort stood out, and she consistently found ways to give her team extra possessions just by staying active around the ball.<br><br></em><br></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>A solid post player who isn't afraid to be one. Mary has a strong frame and uses it both on the glass and in the low post. She also has solid mobility, which helps her move effectively on both ends. On defense, she was called out to guard away from the paint and held her own, forcing a give up.</em><br></p>

<p class="text-gray-700"><em>One of the top players in this class, and today was another piece of proof of that. From a stature standpoint, she has definitely grown a couple of inches and uses it to her advantage now when she's attacking the rim. The playmaking ability is there as well, and so is the scoring from the outside. A ton of potential, and she can very well find herself in the top 15 as time goes on. </em><br></p>
