About once a year I like to go through various areas of the state and highlight players for different reasons. In this specific article, I wanted to focus on 6 prospects (3 in 2027, 2 in 2028, and 1 in 2029) who are either listed on the watch list, or not at all included in the rankings at the release of this article. All 6 of these prospects come from schools in Southwest Indiana, but more specifically, from the Central Time Zone counties of Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, Warrick, Spencer, and Perry, plus Pike County and Southern Dubois County, because they are closest to this area.

Throughout her career Alexis has been surrounded by several really good perimeter players, but she was a rarity because of her height, so she was their interior defender and primary rebounder. Now, due to graduation losses, she could be the focal point for the Tigers. She is a consistent finisher inside the arc, she has length, wiry strength, bounce, and all-around athleticism, plus she can knock down a rhythm 3-pointer. She is a talented volleyball player as well, so I'll be curious to see what role she'll have coming straight from her Fall sport, but she does have basketball talent/skill.

Jaci is kind of the "glue" for a talented South Spencer team. With [player_tooltip player_id='610126' first='Rylee' last='Canaan'] providing a presence inside and out, and [player_tooltip player_id='1583133' first='Alexis' last='Harris'] giving them a perimeter scoring punch, Jaci is the point guard who gets the ball where it needs to go. She is quietly tough-nosed, somewhat feisty, but all in all, she does a nice job of managing the team. She averaged a career-high 5.6 assists per game as a Junior, and that's sure to go up this year. She also rebounds and defends her position well. Additionally, she is a double-digit scorer who shot 36% from 3-point range and 82% from the charity stripe last year.

Taylor is a long, wiry-strong, fluidly athletic wing with some bounce to her as well. She can be an offensive threat as a slashing scorer, but she also likes to act as the primary ball-handler, push it up in transition, and get her team into their offense. She does a nice job as well of sitting down and defending the perimeter with her length, and she will pursue rebounds. Taylor is still working on making her perimeter jumper more consistent, but as that comes, she could be a real problem as a multilevel scorer. For now, she's at least able to keep defenses honest or get burned.

I was able to see Reniah in early July, and she could be a nice problem for Harrison against opponents this Winter. She has a broad, strong frame, she is extremely physical, but she also showed a good motor and toughness when I saw her in Louisville. She has solid hands and some touch around the paint, so if she can stretch her game at all toward the perimeter, I think it could put pressure on opponents defensively. With star Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1690461' first='Jaliyah' last='Farmer'] running point for the Warriors, she should make a nice pick-and-roll combination with Reniah.

Claire has really nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and she's a solid all-around athlete. Her brother is a Sophomore on Indiana University's roster, so I feel like maybe some expectations followed her because of it. At the same time, she did a nice job of finding her own footing as a Sophomore in 2025-2026, and she was a consistent contributor, averaging 7.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She is comfortable around the basket, but she's also developing a mid-post game and starting to drive it to the rim more often. I think she could approach double-double type numbers as a Junior in 2026-2027.

Kinley put together a solid start to her career as a rookie at Tecumseh. She averaged 9.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per contest. She has some length and some wiry strength, plus she is a solid on-the-floor athlete in most directions. She can get out and push the ball some in transition, even initiate the offense, but she is primarily a scorer right now. She can make an open rhythm 3-pointer, but as that becomes more consistent, along with her other shooting percentages, I look for her to be a mid to high-teens scorer in the very near future.
