Up Next Showcase: The Best of Team 4

Team 4 brought together a talented mix of players from the Classes of 2031, 2032, and 2033 at the Up Next Showcase, held at Maple Grove Junior High. Throughout the day, the group displayed a competitive spirit, unselfish play, and a willingness to compete against quality talent. With several players making strong impressions on both ends of the floor, Team 4 featured a blend of polished skill and exciting long-term potential. Here are a handful of players that stood out and turned some heads during the showcase.      #11 - We don't want to look too far ahead, but if Bailey (pictured above) continues to develop at her current pace, her combination of size and skill will make her a problem for years to come. She has great length, plays with relentless energy, and is an outstanding teammate whose presence elevates those around her. Although she arrived a little late to the showcase, Bailey wasted no time making her impact felt. Around the basket, she was a force, using her 6-foot frame and long wingspan to control the paint. Defensively, she altered shots with her length and timing, and she explodes off the floor to secure rebounds as if she's on springs. Hopkins has an impressive group of talented, lengthy young players coming through the pipeline, and Bailey has established herself as one of the very best among them. Her future is incredibly bright.     #17 - Don't let the slight frame fool you—Bryant plays with a fearless, relentless style, attacking the rim against anyone regardless of size or class. She holds herself to a high standard and is her own toughest critic, taking missed shots and unfinished plays personally because she expects excellence from herself. Bryant impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she can score at all three levels, and defensively, she competes with purpose and intensity. As a member of the Class of 2033, she possesses tremendous upside and is undoubtedly a player to keep an eye on in the years ahead.     #21 - Clara displayed an impressive ability to change speeds and played with a great blend of finesse and toughness. Her knack for creating space and getting her shot off in traffic stood out, and her crafty finishes around the basket showed the work she's been putting into her game. One of her best moments came when she attacked the lane, absorbed contact, and finished with her off hand for an and-one—a high-level play that highlighted both her body control and confidence. Defensively, she competed on every possession and showed the potential to be a well-rounded player on both ends of the floor. The 2032 prospect fit in seamlessly with her teammates, played unselfish basketball, and consistently made the right plays for the team.     #40 - White has put in the work, successfully transitioning her game from the post to the perimeter, and she's well ahead of schedule. Too often, players with size get labeled as post players early and struggle to develop the perimeter skills that open up more opportunities. White has embraced that challenge. She has a smooth jump shot, handles the ball well, and her time playing around the basket has made her physically strong and tough as nails. As she continues to expand her skill set, her versatility will only make her more dangerous. Keep an eye on White—she's a player whose game is trending in the right direction.     #43 - Mayberry has all the tools—length, skill, basketball IQ, and the ability to make the game look effortless when she's in rhythm. Her size and length allow her to cover a tremendous amount of ground on both ends of the floor, making an impact in multiple ways. Already regarded as one of the premier scorers in the Class of 2031, she continues to elevate her game with each opportunity. This upcoming winter, she'll have the chance to compete for meaningful varsity minutes at Park Center, and she has the talent to make the most of that opportunity.    This next group of players also had solid showings throughout the day. #34 [player_tooltip player_id='1863410' first='Desirae' last='Brewster'] of Tartan displayed a shifty handle and showed the ability to create space and get her shot off. #35 [player_tooltip player_id='1866528' first='Paige' last='Williamson'] played with confidence, consistently looked for her offense, and showcased a good handle to go along with a smooth-looking outside shot. #61 [player_tooltip player_id='1884582' first='Eliza' last='Trevorrow'] impressed with her unselfish approach, making smart decisions with the basketball, moving well without the ball, and consistently making the right play. All three players had moments that stood out and added to a strong overall showing by Team 4.
