2026 PG IA Expo: Newer Faces To Evaluate

Love Smith is a talented Guard, who seems to be very talented for her Class/Age level throughout the state. She has everything a little more put together, per se, than most others her age and because of that - she is starting to see a lot of promise within this sport. This event is going to bring in the Top 10-15 2031's in the state as a whole and I can't wait to see how everyone matches up with each other. It is SUPER early right now within everyone's career but by the looks of it - this Class might be the most talented we have had the last 10 years in Iowa, from top to bottom but that is still TBD so we will just have to wait and see. As for Love Smith though, she is going to be just fine on her own individual journey. Along with that, we will be able to see Sainci and what she can really bring to the floor. She competes for Wahlert Catholic High School throughout the school year and for DCBA out of Dubuque for AAU ball so she is used to a high level of competition. When you pair that with her size as a 5'10/5'11 Forward, you start to see what she might be able to bring to the floor if she keeps growing within this game. She is usually placed on the court with other talented individuals who can get her the ball in optimal positions. From there, when she has time and space near the rim, it's over. It's going to be a bucket a majority of the time. I have a feeling that CR - Xavier is NOT going to play up any 8th graders. I'm not saying that is right or wrong. I'm simply saying that Rosteck should be practicing with the high school kids this Winter. She is such a talented that it makes no sense to keep her practicing with the 8th grade group, where she won't get a ton better. They should throw her into the fire and let her learn. Holdgrafer is a 6'0 SG with a beautiful shooting stroke from deep, impeccable timing, and a smart head on her shoulders. That, combined with her size makes her a PROBLEM for most to stick with. She is too tall for most, that she can just shoot over them. If someone taller than her decides to step up to play defense, Holdgrafer can easily move around them for a bucket at the rim once she spreads out the floor from the outside. Defensively, she is rock solid with impressive discipline. There is still a lot of questions here as I have to watch this one some more but this might be a Top 10, even Top 5 prospect out of the 2031 Class at the end of the day if her progression continues to progress.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
