Earned Not Given: Impact Players on the Wing

The point guards and "bigs" got their love, now it's time to shine the light on the standout wing players from the [program_tooltip program_id='713173' first='Wood' last='Elite'] Top Earned Not Given showcase. Three seniors in Georgia shined in front of the double-digit college coaches who were sitting on the baseline. There were also strong performances from multiple underclassmen playing on the perimeter. Some of these kids played a little bit at the point guard position as well, showing even more versatility.    Journey was up there for players who had the best day over the course of the four hours. She put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways, from all three levels without forcing shots or over dribbling. In fact, one of the things Bryant did best was push the ball in transition and score or find an open teammate on the break. She was almost perfect in catch and shoot situations from the perimeter and finished nicely around the rim. She would have no problem shifting over to the point guard position full time if the situation called for it. She has excellent size to go with the big bag of skills on offense. One of the more underrated 2027's in Georgia whose recruitment is wide open. High academic kid.     Madison does what she does again on Sunday- defend at a very high level, knock down shots from three-point range, and sprint out on the break and score in transition. Reckley was the best defender at the showcase which was no surprised as she has developed a well-earned reputation for being a lockdown defender in Georgia. She competed at a very high level, played with a big motor, and had a big impact on both her five on five and All-Star teams. There were over 10 college coaches sitting on the baseline who saw the same thing that I did. She is good enough to play on a lot of their rosters on the next level. She will play a lot of her games in her senior season in front of multiple more college coaches in her senior year with a loaded Sandy Creek team. She will be a meaningful contributor in the right situation in college.     Kendall, I think, is predominantly a point guard and if she isn't then her ball handling and passing skills matched with her natural ability to create had me fooled. Either way, Greer did that in bunches whether it was from the top of the key or the wing.My suspicion is she selflessly gave up the point guard position due to the large number of them at the showcase, but I could be wrong. When Kendall wasn't dropping dimes, she was knocking down midrange jump-shots or scoring in the painted area. She showed the handle we have come to expect from kids who train at Pitts Academy and that ability enabled her to do the things mentioned above in helping her team compete. She is definitely a college player, the question is where she will end up.     Katie was a player who not on impacted the game on the offensive and defensive end in a positive way, but her effort rebounding the basketball was hard to miss. She has very good height accompanied by long arms but also appears to know where the weight room is at Landmark Christian. Whether it was battling on the boards in the paint, handling the basketball, or playing man to man on defense, Kinsinger utilized that strength to her advantage. From one viewing, it appeared she has very solid fundamentals passing and handling the basketball. The form and follow through on her jump shot looking good as well. I look forward to seeing her play again for a closer evaluation.     Scout has to be one of the bigger stock risers in Georgia over the last 9-10 months when I first started hearing about her. Having watched her play know for Union County, Tennessee United, and in individual showcases I can say without a doubt she is one of the best 2029 guards in the state. Scrappy is the word that comes to mind with Scout. I can't count the number of times I have seen her just take the ball from the player she is guarding and if she is near a loose ball you can forget about it. Henry is always around the ball, always in the middle of the action, and always making plays. To compliment her competitiveness and toughness, Scout shoots the ball very well from the perimeter and finds ways to score in the paint and around the basket. Often times, that is turning defense into offense. She is a very important part of a very talented core at Union County that could make a deep run in the state tournament this season.     Coleman really impressed not only myself but others on the baseline. She will be ranked when the new 2028 update is released after an impressive afternoon in Woodstock. Jayla is a smooth operating southpaw who was equally effective knocking down shots from three (in the skills and games portions) and sliding her way to the basket before finishing at the rim. She is also a very good athlete with quick feet, long strides, and good leaping ability. I was not familiar with Coleman prior to the event, but she is a player who I will remember for sure.
