Last season as a Junior she led her CAM program to a 15-10 record from the CG position. She was consistently active on the glass, her athletic ability helped her register a good amount of Blocks throughout the season as a whole, she scored every game, and she led those around her with her actions - not just her words whenever she was out on the court. I could see Hansen being a first team type prospect this Winter once again for the Cougars. She has some experience being at the front of her team so hopefully she can use that experience to put together her more successful Varsity season to date.

The Woodbine Tigers ended the middle of the group within their conference last Winter. Over the next eight months they should do a little bit better now that their best players are going to be a year older. The individual that I'm really interested in seeing is Keaton Owens - their returning Power Forward. Owens comes in at 5'11 and she works inside the three point line. She is a high level rebounder, always sitting by the basket, and she is someone that tries to play with her back to the basket on offense whenever possible. Owens didn't venture out to take too many three point attempts as a Freshman and she also didn't throw too many assists. That shows us that she had a heavy workload, mainly in between the blocks each possession. That's not a bad thing. She should be set in the same place this upcoming season. She will just have the ball in her hands a little bit more. Which isn't a bad thing!

You can't mention the Rolling Valley Conference the last three years without mentioning Taryn Petersen of Exira-EHK High School and her levels of production. Petersen has been notable ever since she took the floor as a Freshman. Since day 1 she has always shown up in the stat sheet while impacting winning for her team at a higher rate than most at the Varsity level. Her quick decision making and balanced coordination keeps her defenders on their toes and that usually helps Petersen come out on top in every sort of situation. We should expect Petersen to finish off her high school career with some fireworks. Her team is going to be solid once again this Winter so now it just comes down to how far she can take them once the Playoffs come next Spring.

2029 - Jenna Subbert's name keeps coming up when we dive into the statistics within this conference from 2025-2026. Subbert competes for Glidden-Ralston and she is their upcoming force that the rest of the conference is going to have to deal with over the next three years. JS is a calm, cool, and collective competitor when the rock is in her hands. She can play the 1, 2, or 3 positions with ease - always producing in someway as a starting Guard for her team. I would say she is more of a natural scoring and shooting threat from the outside but she isn't afraid to mix things up to dish out an assist every once in awhile when she is overplayed. This conference is in good hands with 2029 who can HOOP and this is one of them to note.

Over the next few months leading up to the season we will be participating in several film study sessions to look in depth into some of the conferences across Iowa and their top players to see what they might be able to accomplish this upcoming season.
