FL Sophomore ID Camp: Team 2 Analysis

The PGH Florida Sophomore ID Camp brought together a strong group of Class of 2029 prospects Sunday afternoon at Seminole Sports Academy in Longwood. Running from 3-7 p.m., the event gave sophomores from across Florida an opportunity to compete against one another and showcase their games in front of evaluators with college coaches leading the instructing.   With the Class of 2029 beginning to establish itself as one of the state's deeper classes with over 100 attendees present, the camp provided a valuable look at players making their mark early in their high school careers to see how they stack up. The afternoon featured competitive 3v3 action before transitioning into 5v5 play, giving players opportunities to display their individual skills, decision-making, versatility, and ability to impact winning on both ends of the floor. Here's a review of Team 2 who had a versatile mix of hoopers:    Aubreigh showed good creativity attacking the lane and showcased a smooth spin move to get into the paint on multiple occasions. She also picked the pocket of a guard and turned the takeaway into offense to show off even more of her versatility on either end. Her footwork stood out as she created space for a step-back jumper over a smaller defender. She absorbed contact well at the rim, showed good awareness defensively with a timely tip to make a play in transition, and was impressive in many different aspects of the game throughout the event.     Brooklynn played a versatile role and showed the ability to contribute from multiple positions as her team needed. She had a strong take and finish at the rim while also competing hard for rebounds on both ends. Brooklynn showed good touch with an off-foot runner after elevating through the lane. After catching the ball at the free throw line, she did a nice job facing up and finding an open shooter when the defense collapsed. Her versatility shined during this showcase.     Zoe was an active two-way guard who consistently created plays with her pressure defense. She attacked the basket well and drew fouls while also picking the pocket of a solid ball-handler multiple times. She forced a number of full-court turnovers that led directly to points for her squad. As the primary point guard for her team, she pushed the pace in transition and showed good change of direction with the dribble. I was very impressed with her play and motor this weekend.     Sage showed a nice shooting stroke and good footwork when attacking the basket. She competed hard in transition defense and hustled back to contest shots and not give up on plays. Her motor stood out on the offensive glass as well when chasing down a long rebound before grabbing another offensive board on the next possession and drawing a foul to get to the line. Her size, length, and versatility will make her a strong prospect in this 2029 class.     Ava used her frame and strength well when attacking downhill. She showed good physicality and repeatedly put pressure on the defense by getting into the lane and drawing contact. She also demonstrated some versatility as a ball-handler by bringing the ball up the court and using a nice hesitation dribble to create space.     Moriah showed strength finishing around the basket and did a good job finishing high over defenders. She also made an impact defensively with blocks and altering shot attempts. As a passer, she showed good awareness by driving into the paint and kicking out to an open teammate for a score. Her versatility is going to be key in where she lands in her recruitment process.     J'ani brought a physical presence to the glass and showed good scoring versatility. She grabbed an offensive rebound for a putback and-one while continuing to battle for boards throughout the game. She is shifty for her size/frame and showed a strong downhill drive to the right side for a bucket. She also stepped out and knocked down a jumper which could be huge to her development as an undersized forward.     Darasyn showed good footwork and patience around the lane by using fakes before getting to two feet and finishing through a jump stop. Her length stood out defensively as she stayed active and used her length to make plays. She also secured a rebound and immediately pushed the ball in transition using her speed and vision.     Molly showed good activity around the basket and followed a transition miss with an offensive rebound and putback early on. Despite her size, she battled for rebounds and stayed active on the glass. She also showed good vision by finding a bigger teammate in the paint for a scoring opportunity on multiple instances throughout the event.     Elizabeth showed a strong ability to attack the middle and create contact at the rim. She had an aggressive drive that should have resulted in an and-one opportunity and later got downhill again to draw contact and earn free throws. She also stood out as a passer with strong, crisp deliveries that helped keep the offense moving throughout the showcase.
