Hampshire Trojans’ season preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>ROMNEY - The Hampshire Trojans qualified for the Class AAA state tournament during the 2025-26 season. Once there, they were eliminated by eventual state champion Greenbrier East in the quarterfinals, 64-36. In the contest, the Trojans started four sophomores. Now, the sophomore are juniors and Hampshire head coach Jordan Richardson and company have their eyes set on another trip to Charleston. Hampshire coach Jordan Richardson calls her the best shot blocker in the state. She is disciplined, doesn't leave her feet, fall for the fake, or swat at the basketball. Her defensive positioning is great. She can also shoot the basketball over all kinds of defenders. All of last year, she was thrown into the defensive fire and responded with some impressive performance. As a sophomore, she had the tasks to guard Kennedy Stewart, Kailee Hammond, [player_tooltip player_id='656290' first='Ava' last='Workman'], Bibs Felton, Bri Fox, and Division I recruit Reagan Edsall. As a junior, she will have the opportunity to guard Felton, again, [player_tooltip player_id='722078' first='Kayli' last='Kellogg'] and some extra challenges thrown in along the way. Stewart has the ability to guard below her size and above her size. Her athletic set allows her to affect a game in many different ways. She can stuff the stat sheet full of assists, rebounds and steals, score, and block shots. Yes, you heard correctly college coaches. When Cosner is on the court, she can flat out shoot the basketball. She was making 44 percent of her 3s when her feet were set, you could almost always count on a trey AS A FRESHMAN.
