Inside Team 3 at The Expo

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Expo was the only fall event in the state dedicated to upperclassmen, bringing together some of the state's top players and others still working to gain more visibility. The competition stayed high throughout the event, giving players another chance to compete, get footage, and make an impression. Team 3 had a good mix of players who found different ways to impact the game throughout the day.</h3>    Julia has made major strides in her game over the past couple of years. The speed, the ball handling, and the aggression are all there. She's fearless getting downhill and knows how to get to the rim either through contact or with the footwork to avoid it, which got her to the free throw line a decent number of times. As her shooting form becomes more fluid, she could be a solid piece for Montini this year.     McGowan definitely played her role well for Team 3. She filled in as a ball handler when needed and helped on the boards a decent number of times as well. She didn't let her size dictate how much impact she had.     Bahr isn't a kid who stays in one spot. She is in constant motion and always looking for an angle to crash or cut. Regardless of the size she's going against, she can finish through contact, and even if she gets pushed to the ground, she jumps right back up. That toughness, along with her activity, makes her a strong point guard to have for your program.     Cooper remains one of the top guards in this state and had another showing this weekend. She moves with pace and doesn't force her scoring. Her game has pace and patience, but also strong aggression. Defensively, the improvement is showing as well; she isn't afraid to be physical and has a good sense of when to gamble. An all-state season might be up for her.     A definite stock riser. Crudele had some major moments in the showcase. The footwork and ball handling are there, and she knows how to put the two together. The scoring ability is present too, and as that becomes more consistent and her reads become quicker, she'll find herself being a key piece for her high school program this year.     Tessa took on a lot of responsibility as her team's primary ball handler, and she did not disappoint. She moves well with the ball and covers ground without needing many dribbles, which lets her play at a solid pace. Defensively, her length and her patience help her out on the perimeter.     Getting a bucket on King isn't an easy thing to do. She is active, relentless, and has solid feet when guarding side to side. That same toughness shows up on the boards, where she doesn't allow her size to stop her from going after anything near her. She plays twice her size, and that same aggressive approach carries over offensively, where she's hard to stay in front of once she gets going at full speed. Strong talent.     Jones found multiple ways to be an impactful piece for her team. She never crowded an area and knew how to fill in spots for easy buckets. She was in constant motion and always made herself available for the next pass. Pesky on the defensive end as well.     Taylor has a strong amount of confidence in her ability to shoot, regardless of whether shots were falling or not, she still knew to take them if the opportunity presented itself. Having that self-belief is key... and points to a player who is aggressive on that end of the floor.
