The Northwestern State University Prospect Camp brought together a talented group of athletes looking to compete, improve and prove that they belong on the recruiting radar. With college coaches watching closely, every drill, possession and decision became an opportunity for players to separate themselves from the competition.

Several prospects took full advantage of that opportunity.

The camp featured players from multiple graduating classes, each bringing a different combination of size, athleticism, skill and toughness. Some prospects immediately passed the eye test with their college-ready frames and physical style of play. Others stood out with their shooting, ball control, court vision and ability to create offense from all three levels.

However, the players who made the strongest impressions did more than score. They defended with intensity, competed for rebounds, communicated with teammates and made winning plays without needing the basketball in their hands. Their effort showed during individual drills, team competition and the highly competitive 5-on-5 games.

The 5-on-5 portion gave the prospects a chance to display how their skills translated into live action. Players were forced to make quick reads, handle pressure and compete against unfamiliar opponents. Several guards controlled the pace, created open looks and attacked the paint, while wings and forwards brought physicality, versatility and defensive presence.

The stock-risers at NSU did not wait for attention—they demanded it with their performances. They competed with confidence, responded to coaching and showed the potential to continue developing into next-level players. While one camp does not define a prospect's future, a strong showing can create momentum, build confidence and place a player's name firmly on the radar.

The NSU Prospect Camp was filled with talent, but these athletes found ways to separate themselves. Their effort, production and competitive mindset made it clear that they are ready to be watched closely moving forward.

For more player evaluations, recruiting coverage, rankings and updates on rising girls' basketball prospects, follow Coach Lathan on Instagram and X.

NSU Prospect Camp: More Names to Know. | Prep Girls Hoops

Northwestern State University Prospect Camp Standouts | Prep Girls Hoops

[player_tooltip player_id='1280252' first='Gracie' last='Ross'] brought a different level of defensive energy to the Northwestern State University Prospect Camp. From the opening possession, she played with active hands, quick feet and nonstop intensity. Ross pressured ballhandlers the full length of the floor, disrupted offensive sets and made every possession uncomfortable for the player in front of her.

Her defensive effort was not just for show—it produced results. Ross forced rushed decisions, challenged passing lanes and helped create five-second violations with her relentless pressure. She plays defense with purpose, consistently moving her hands and feet while refusing to give opponents an easy path toward the basket.

Ross also made her presence felt offensively. She displayed terrific handles, changed directions with control and attacked the rim aggressively. Her ability to turn defensive stops into quick offense makes her especially dangerous in transition. She plays with confidence, toughness and an edge that immediately raises the energy of her team.

Public coverage has also recognized Ross as a standout performer at major showcase events, while her player profile identifies her as a versatile guard capable of playing both backcourt positions. Her social profile connects her with Gunter High School and TBI Ballstars, further showing that she continues to compete against strong competition.

Ross is an absolute disruptor who can change the rhythm of a game with her defense. Her pressure, handles and fearless drives make her the type of two-way guard opponents do not enjoy seeing across from them.

At the Northwestern State University Prospect Camp, MJ did what MJ does—controlled the game and made everyone around her better. Thibodeaux looked like a true floor general, directing traffic, managing the pace and consistently making the correct basketball play.

What separates MJ is her unselfishness and ability to read the defense. When opponents sent double-teams her way, she remained composed, moved the ball at the right moment and found open teammates for easy baskets. She never allowed the extra pressure to rush her or force her into poor decisions.

MJ can also shift from facilitator to scorer when needed. She handles the ball confidently, creates space and attacks without disrupting the flow of the offense. Her patience, vision and decision-making allow her to control possessions while keeping her teammates involved.

Her performance came during an unofficial visit to NSU, giving her another opportunity to showcase her game in front of the coaching staff. Public profiles list Thibodeaux as a versatile point guard/shooting guard for Midland, with game film available through Hudl and FieldLevel.

MJ did not need to force shots or chase attention to stand out. Her command of the offense, willingness to share the basketball and ability to make winning reads spoke loudly. Her NSU performance was another reminder that she belongs among Louisiana's top guards in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='916993' first='Kendall' last='Stevenson'] brought toughness, confidence, and winning energy to the NSU Prospect Camp. She is a dangerous shooter who must be respected on the perimeter, but her impact stretches far beyond scoring. Stevenson competes with purpose, plays under control, and brings the type of effort that can change the momentum of a game.

Defensively, she is an absolute problem at the point of attack. Stevenson applies strong ball pressure, stays connected to opposing guards, and refuses to give up easy driving lanes. Her willingness to step in and take charges shows fearlessness, anticipation, and a team-first mentality. Those are the gritty plays that separate competitors from everyone else.

Stevenson's shooting ability, defensive toughness, and nonstop motor make her a valuable two-way guard. She does not need the ball in her hands to make an impact—she can stretch the defense, disrupt ball handlers, and create extra possessions through pure effort. [player_tooltip player_id='916993' first='Kendall' last='Stevenson'] is the kind of player coaches trust when the game gets physical. Keep her name on the radar because she brings the toughness and competitive edge every team needs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1878597' first='Tilley' last='Rueda'] arrived at the NSU Prospect Camp with something to prove—and left with her stock moving in the right direction. She brought relentless energy, toughness, and a competitive fire that could be felt on both ends of the floor.

Offensively, Rueda played with confidence and control. She protected the basketball against pressure, created separation with her handle, and showed the ability to knock down open shots. She stayed composed, attacked opportunities when they appeared, and refused to let defenders speed her up.

Defense is where Rueda truly made her presence felt. She crowded ball handlers, used quick hands to disrupt possessions, and fought for every inch of the floor. She never backed away from a matchup and showed that toughness, timing, and effort can overcome any size disadvantage.

Rueda has also competed on the Girls Fab 50 stage, adding to a growing résumé of appearances against quality competition. Her fearless playing style and nonstop motor make her impossible to overlook. [player_tooltip player_id='1878597' first='Tilley' last='Rueda'] came to NSU as a player to watch and walked away as a legitimate stock riser.

[player_tooltip player_id='1350362' first='Sariah' last='Shannon']'s stock continues to rise, and her performance at the NSU Prospect Camp showed exactly why college coaches are beginning to take notice. The senior guard competed with confidence, toughness, and a nonstop motor while making an impact on both ends of the floor.

Shannon handled pressure, kept the offense organized, and consistently created opportunities for the players around her. She showed patience with the basketball, made smart decisions, and attacked scoring opportunities without forcing the action. She also stayed productive away from the ball by setting strong screens, finding open space, and working to keep possessions alive.

Defensively, Shannon was a straight competitor. She pressured ball handlers, fought through screens, challenged passing lanes, and used her quick hands to force turnovers. Her physical playing style and willingness to battle for every loose ball gave her team an edge.

Shannon arrived at NSU with something to prove and delivered a performance that strengthened her name as a rising prospect. Her combination of skill, defensive intensity, leadership, and effort made her difficult to overlook. [player_tooltip player_id='1350362' first='Sariah' last='Shannon'] continues to trend upward, and college programs should keep her firmly on their recruiting radar.

The Northwestern State University Prospect Camp brought together a talented group of athletes looking to compete, improve and prove that they belong on the recruiting radar. With college coaches watching closely, every drill, possession and decision became an opportunity for players to separate themselves from the competition.
