Offseason Radar Watch Region 4-4A

After going through Region 3-4A, it is now on to Region 4-4A in this offseason player breakdown series. With that, here are five of the best players in Region 4-4A to be aware of before the start of the upcoming school season.    [player_tooltip player_id='1155248' first='Kataira' last='Tolbert'] is one of the best forwards in her 2028 class. In her junior season, she could prove to be one of the best players in TN as a whole.   Tolbert, in her sophomore season, was one of the best defenders, if not the best, every time she stepped on the floor. She has the foot speed to keep up with guards on the perimeter. Her speed when defending the post, already with her size at 5'10", gives her a big advantage in those matchups. Tolbert is also great at denying post entry passes.   Tolbert also has a versatile scoring skillset where she can space the floor with a 3-pointer, and she can score in the paint at an extremely high level.     [player_tooltip player_id='821718' first='Ellie' last='Beth McDonald'] in her junior season lit up scoreboards consistently. With another offseason to improve her skills, she will likely be an even better scorer in her final season of high school hoops.   McDonald is one of the biggest 3-point shooting threats in her 2027 class. At 5'11" and with the high arc she has on her jumper, she is awfully hard to defend on the perimeter. She is also able to set her feet on a dime while on the move. This allows her to have a fast jumper.   McDonald is also great at maneuvering around screens. She ha the movement seen with smaller guards that allows her to make sharper cuts than most players at her size.     [player_tooltip player_id='821758' first='Eliana' last='Ramsey'] is a team player in every sense, and it shows up in the box score.   Ramsey is a guard that any high school coach would love to have. She has a high basketball IQ and is extremely unselfish. With that, Ramsey has elite playmaking. She constantly logged five or more assists in games last season. This included an outing against Macon County High School where she had seven.   Ramsey can also get a bucket. She has good dribbling skills and can spot up and knock down perimeter shots.     There is a lot to like in [player_tooltip player_id='822465' first='Kumarie' last='Alexander']'s game.   One of the main ways Alexander impacts the game is with her perimeter shot. She is a shooter who is always ready to pull the trigger, and especially good at making shots on the wings.   Alexander, also on the wing, is good at advancing her team's offensive set. Whether that be passing to an open teammate directly for an assist or swinging the ball so that teammate can make the next pass for an assist. Overall, Alexander is just a flat-out good passer.     [player_tooltip player_id='1319379' first='Briley' last='Anderson'] is a dynamic guard who could be in for a big junior season.   Anderson takes pride in the defensive side of the ball. Her scrappiness overall and speed make her impactful. These traits of Anderson's game also show up and make positive impacts in other ways. Her speed helps her be a good fast-break scorer, and her scrappiness helps her be a good rebounder for a guard.   Anderson is also an outstanding 3-point spot-up shooter. Her motion does not change shot to shot on catch-and-shoot actions. That definitely plays a role in her consistently making an impact game in and out with her outside shooting.
