PGH Carolinas Expo Preview: 2029s Poised to Shine

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Rock Hill Sports &amp; Events Center was the focal point for many a 2030 throughout South and North Carolina last weekend for the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase. This upcoming weekend – at the same venue – those same courts will belong to top-tier prospects from the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sunday, September 6 is when this year's Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Expo takes place. Jaminet played in 29 games last season for a Red Raiders team that won the 5A Division 2 Upper State championship. She averaged 9.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. The Her Elite product earned an offer from Furman last year. She was one of four from the class of 2029 on last season's team. Carr competed in all 23 games for a Ridge View team that finished 15-8 last season. She averaged 10.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Carr has more experience than the average sophomore considering she first played at the high school varsity level as an eighth grader. McKevitt elected to remain in a Warriors uniform a year after guiding Wando to a 5A Division 1 Lower State championship. Last season, McKevitt was even one of Prep Girls Hoops' Dr. Dish Players of the Week for the final week of December for a solid performance for the Warriors at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach. A [program_tooltip program_id='713550' first='Palmetto' last='76ers'] product, McKevitt averaged 13.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.2 steals per matchup last season. She ran with [program_tooltip program_id='715412' first='SC' last='Eagles'] for her 2026 season of grassroots ball while playing up in class on its 17U team. Childers transferred to 5A River Bluff prior to last season and was a major catalyst behind a noticeable turnaround for coach Jordan Leath's Gators. She averaged 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 steals and two assists per game as she competed in 25 of River Bluff's 26 contests last season.
