A young core is emerging at Ridge View that will ensure the Blazers remain in the contenders’ chat for the next several seasons. Carr leads the frontcourt efforts for Ridge View and played in all 23 games this past season as a Blazer. Not only was Carr the team’s leading scorer at 10.8 points per game, she also was Ridge View’s leading rebounder, hauling in 6.7 per contest. Carr also led Ridge View in blocks with 1.5 per matchup and also collected one steal per 32 minutes. She is turning her attention to the upcoming travel slate with Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite which will commence on Mar. 28 at the Ice Breaker invite in North Augusta.

Ridge View’s frontcourt efforts have been paced by Carr all throughout 2025-26. Carr’s first season was last year as an eighth grader, and she has taken a noteworthy leap as the featured big for the Blazers this season. Another of the Palmetto 76ers/A’ja Wilson Elite program, Carr has averaged 11 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.1 steals per contest throughout the season. Her presence in the interior was a key factor to the Blazers finishing second in its region only behind defending 5A Division 1 champion Blythewood. The nucleus of Ridge View appears to be set for the next three seasons and it will be a difficult one for opponents to contend with.

Strong and physical true center that does not mind contact. Uses her body to post up and seal defenders. Has back to basket moves and uses both hands to finish. Can catch lob passes and score over defense. A force on the glass and tough defender to be able to shoot over because of her size.

The same weekend as Girls Night Out, Ridge View itself was hosting the boys’ basketball Bojangles Bash. For the Blazers that spent their Saturday in the Lowcountry, Carr was cash. An effective interior attack from Carr – 10 points to be exact – was part of an offensive onslaught from coach Aaron Lucas’ Blazers that overwhelmed fellow 5A Division 1 combatant Ashley Ridge. It appeared that whenever Carr has the rock in the paint, she was able to go to work and put two more points on the board for Ridge View. Rebounding is another one of her strong points. Carr is more than poised to establish herself as one of the state’s premier bigs.

can track down the ball from all over the court hustling after loose possessions. She did well using her feet to get into position and her strength to bully her defenders where she wants them to go. She didn’t back down from anyone trying to guard her. She ran the floor well being ready for the pass on a fast break.

Carr was playing here today for the Lady Blazers of Ridge View HS. Amiyah certainly does play like someone in just the 8th grade coming this fall. She was able to play with her back to the basket and work for position down on the block. Amiyah did a nice job of keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass. The future certainly looks bright for this young lady moving down the road.
