PGH Expo: Team 1 Evaluations

The 2026 Expo brought together more than 100 prospects for a full day of basketball in front of PGH scouts and college coaches from the D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO levels. Players competed throughout four hours of predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups, giving them multiple opportunities to showcase different parts of their game. One of the things that makes Prep Girls Hoops showcases unique is that every player receives post-event coverage, along with social media exposure and evaluations from the event. Players also had the opportunity to compete alongside talented high school players and be coached by different college coaches throughout the day. My coverage focused primarily on Teams 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9. Here is a look at what I saw from the players competing on Team 1 at The Expo:    Lily, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, showed a well-rounded game during her time on the floor. She worked her way into position for an offensive rebound and showed good body control when navigating traffic in the lane. Around the basket, Lily used a smooth Rondo move to create a clean look and finish. She also showed her range by knocking down a three from the perimeter. Defensively, she was active with her hands and made plays on the ball. Lily also made a nice read in the pick-and-roll, delivering a well-timed pass to her teammate.     Harper, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, made an impact in both the 3v3 and 5v5 portions of the event. During 3v3, she showed her ability to see the floor and delivered several well-placed passes to her teammates. Once 5v5 play began, Harper ran the floor hard in transition and was rewarded with an and-one finish at the rim. She also brought activity to the defensive end, using her hands well to disrupt the offense and make plays on the ball.     Brinley, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, was one of my top performers on the day. She consistently found ways to make an impact, starting with a strong slash and finish at the rim. She pushed the ball with her head up and delivered quality passes in transition, while also showing good hands by securing a catch in traffic and finishing off the pick-and-roll. Brinley turned defense into offense when she came away with a steal and took it coast-to-coast for the score. She showed her perimeter game by knocking down shots from behind the arc and connected on a well-executed give-and-go before finishing through traffic. Her effort in transition was also noticeable, as she ran the floor hard and put herself in position for another bucket.     Braylee, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, showed an impressive ability to create opportunities for her teammates. She consistently attacked off the dribble, drawing multiple defenders before finding the open player for a quality look. Braylee sees the floor extremely well and pairs that court vision with a strong handle, allowing her to navigate pressure, get into the paint, and make the right read once the defense commits.     Logyn, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, was one of my top performers on the day. During 3v3 play, she showed her toughness around the basket by finishing through contact. In 5v5, her playmaking really came to the forefront. Logyn consistently played with her head up, delivering excellent passes in transition and creating opportunities for her teammates. Her court vision, handle, and high basketball IQ allowed her to make smart decisions and consistently put teammates in good positions. She was also productive on the glass at both ends, turning defensive rebounds into immediate transition opportunities and going coast-to-coast when the lane was there.     Izzy, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, was one of my top performers on the day. Her perimeter shooting was a major part of her performance, as she knocked down multiple threes from different spots on the floor. She was effective both off the catch and off the dribble, using good footwork and a quick release to get her shot off. Izzy also made plays beyond her scoring, coming away with a steal before finding a teammate for a dime in transition. She moved well without the ball, making a well-timed backdoor cut and finishing at the rim. Izzy also showed her ability to score at multiple levels, turning the corner and pulling up for a smooth mid-range jumper.     Raquel, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, was my MVP and the best player I saw in the gym. Her combination of size, length, quickness, and athleticism makes her an incredibly difficult matchup. She has the size of a post but the skill set of a guard, and she showed just how much she can do with the ball in her hands. Raquel grabbed defensive rebounds and went coast-to-coast numerous times, using her handle and body control to navigate traffic and get to the rim. She played with patience once she got into the lane, allowing plays to develop, finding openings in the defense, and making smart decisions with the ball. Around the basket, she showed polished footwork, including a nice reverse finish, while also displaying a smooth pull-up jumper away from the rim. Raquel's versatility and ability to impact the game in so many different ways separated her from the rest of the field.     Nevaeh, playing on Team 1 at The Expo, brought plenty of effort to the floor throughout the day. She showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and get downhill, using her handle to work her way into the lane. Nevaeh also made her presence felt with her hustle, tracking down offensive rebounds and creating extra opportunities for her team. Her willingness to compete for loose balls and stay involved in plays added value on both ends of the floor.
