PGH MI Expo: Team 4 Evaluations

The 2026 Expo was loaded with talent as 100+ prospects took the court in front of PGH scouts and college coaches representing D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO programs. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Every participant is featured in our post-event articles, which is a unique and special feature of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. Social media coverage, post-event evaluations, and a great presence of college coaches in the gym to watch many of the girls who will one day help their programs are elements that make this a special annual experience. Girls had the opportunity to be coached by different college coaches during games and competed alongside great high school talent. My coverage focused primarily on teams 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12. Here is a snapshot of what I observed from players competing on Team 4 at the showcase:    Riley had herself a breakout performance for Team 4 at the PGH Michigan Expo. The first time she earned recognition as aTop Performer was in this same building a year ago at the Michigan State Tournament. Riley looked confident and completely in her element again. She used crafty inside-outs to create space from a defender and dribbled into a smooth wing three. Riley stayed active as a rebounder, then immediately pushed the ball up the court with pace to start the fast breaks. She pushed it the length of the floor, changed lanes with a quick crossover, and caused a foul. Riley circled the defense on a perimeter drive from the corner to the wing and attacked with a burst to split the gap, then dropped in a soft floater in the paint. She scanned the court in transition, took the ball downhill on a hard drive, and converted a nice stretch finish with her off hand. Riley proved that she deserves a number next to her name in the next rankings update. She's going to be a stellar sophomore court general to watch in South Lyon in the backcourt this winter.     Kenley has consistently turned in Top Performer and All-Event Team efforts at our showcases the past few years. Today, she added MVP recognition to her list of accolades. Kenley has good length, athleticism, court vision, physicality, two-way instincts, and fundamental abilities that translate to the higher levels as a CG. She's a commanding court general who can also play off the ball. Kenley separated herself in games for Team 4. Her three-point shooting is a strength of her game, and that was the case again. Kenley swished a step-back three from the slot, ripped the net on a step-back three from the wing, and drilled a straightaway three off a screen. Her ability to come back on the next possession and sink a three following a previous miss showed a resolve/toughness that you want to see in a shooter. Kenley threw a fantastic lob entry pass from the perimeter over the defense to a post down low. She slashed past defenders off the bounce and finished with the stretch layup. Kenley penetrated and dished out crisp passes, assisting on threes and getting teammates open looks. She took a defensive rebound up the floor 94 feet and switched hands with her eyes up in transition. Kenley stuck with a miss, worked into position to secure the rebound, then scored the putback. She made a great recovery on defense to strip the ball away on a layup attempt and moved her feet to close driving lanes. Kenley will be a huge contributor for a West Catholic squad looking to make it back to the Breslin Center.     Haydyn is a scrappy point guard who can contribute in whatever way she needs to help the team be successful, and she did a little of everything for Team 4 at the PGH Michigan Expo. Her in-your-face pressure on the perimeter disrupted a ball-handler and forced a turnover. She's aggressive on the defensive end and tied up a ball in the post. Haydyn kept the ball moving with her quick, crisp passes, and showed her outside range by sinking a smooth three from the corner. She's a confident shooter from the outside and will be a two-way difference maker at Pennfield this winter.     Marissa made her presence felt for Team 4 with her defense and hustle at the PGH Michigan Expo. She moved her feet to beat a driver to the spot and forced her to dribble the ball out of bounds for a turnover. Marissa delivered a good bounce pass into the post, was an aggressive rebounder, set screens to free up teammates, moved laterally quickly to stop dribble penetration, scooped up a loose ball, and pushed the tempo. She had good awareness in the gap and made a quick outlet pass after securing a rebound. Marissa is a guard who can be a productive member of a college program.     Antanique was flying around the court and making plays for Team 4 at the PGH Michigan Expo. When you have a point guard contributing heavily as a rebounder and playing gritty defense that gives the team a boost. She hustled back on defense to strip the ball away on a breakaway, and sprinted in from the perimeter to secure rebounds. Anatanique gave the team a perimeter threat and drained an open triple from the corner. She covered ground in a hurry with her fast pushout dribbles using both hands in the open court, accelerated, moved a defender out of the way with her shoulder, then went up strong to finish the assertive drive with a two-foot finish. Antanique dished out assists and will be a key contributor again this season for Muskegon.     Taylor has a reputation for being a deadly three-point shooter, and she put the ball in the basket from downtown again at The PGH Michigan Expo. Her mechanics, balance, and accuracy off the dribble or the hop stood out at the event. She knocked down a step-back triple up top, drained a three from the corner, and buried a wing three off the hop. Taylor worked hard on both ends of the court and had a productive day for Team 4.     Alani has good length and versatility. She fit right in with Team 4 and looks ready to have a productive sophomore campaign at Southfield A & T. She was active on the offensive glass and showed confidence shooting jumpers in the mid-range off screens. Her physical strength to play inside and mobility to pop outside as a perimeter player is difficult to defend.     Charlee has length, aggressiveness, and physicality that will make her a force at Saugatuck this winter. She had a very productive freshman campaign and has taken another step forward in her game. She showed a willingness to shoot the outside shot, worked into position inside, and did a good job of presenting her teammates with an open target to make entry passes. Charles was very persistent on the offensive glass. She crashed the boards to score a putback and took the ball hard to the basket, then finished strong off two feet. Charlee set an effective screen up top that led to three points for a teammate and moved well to open space off the ball. She was very impactful for Team 4 at the PGH Michigan Expo.     Meisha made an impression with her effort, defensive impact, and hustle. She moved quickly laterally to stop drives and chased down a breakaway from behind, then forced the miss without fouling. Meisha competes in top gear, pushes the tempo with her dribble, and stretches the floor with her outside shot. She buried a smooth three up top off the dribble and shot it confidently from the perimeter.     Gabby was expected to be a force at the PGH Michigan Expo, and she turned in an impressive day with Team 5. Her size, strength, footwork, shot-blocking, rebounding, and presence on the court gave her team an advantage throughout the event. Gabby used a wide drop step pivot to get the scoring angle inside, elevated high up off the floor, showing her athleticism, then finished with touch--no backboard needed. Gabby caught an entry pass with soft hands for the catch and finish and muscled her way into position to score high-percentage shots. She forced the defense to foul many times and cleaned up around the basket, scoring putbacks. Gabby made good kickout passes to perimeter shooters and stuffed the stat sheet as a rebounder. She rotated from help position to block shots and protect the rim. Gabby deflected entry passes into the post and held her ground with a solid stance and good wall-up technique to avoid fouling. She's going to be an unstoppable force at Buchanan this winter and has established herself firmly as an elite high-level post prospect in this class.
