PGH Sophomore ID Camp: Team 11 evaluations, part 2

Last week we covered the best of the best from the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase. This week we're back for more with our second event of the month; the PGH Sophomore ID Camp. The event, which was held at Maple Grove Middle School on Sunday, featured more than 100 players from around Minnesota. We saw great performances from some familiar faces, while others crossed our path for the first time. PGH scouts Grant McGinnis, Tony Ragulen, Paxyn Rendahl and I were on site all afternoon and will be breaking down the highlights one team at a time. Here is Team 11, part 2.    Tesch (pictured above) has been on a tear ever since we first saw her play at last year's Freshman Showcase. After carving out a role with Milaca and dominating the post for the [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] this summer, the 6'0 forward continues to level up her game. On Sunday it was the improvement in her guard skills that really stood out to us. Azalea is more comfortable handling the ball, has added a significant amount of range to her shot, and is playing with more confidence and versatility than we've seen before. Always a gritty, physical presence on the court, Tesch's game has become more and more polished in recent months. We can't wait to see what she does with the Wolves this winter.     Moore has continued to improve her game since we watched her with [program_tooltip program_id='712697' first='MN' last='Crossfire'] over the summer. At Sunday's showcase the 6'0 forward used her height and length to control the boards, created scoring opportunities for herself down low, but also wasn't afraid to show a little versatility on offense. Plenty quick enough to stretch the floor, we enjoyed seeing Hannah step out and take a few shots from beyond the arc. Only time will tell if the Maple Grove forward will make her varsity debut this season, but based on what we've seen, Moore could be an asset for the Crimson in her sophomore campaign.     Robinson had some great flashes at Sunday's event. Quick, light on her feet, and seriously explosive, the 5'0 guard really shined when scoring in transition. Each time her team forced a live-ball turnover, Aaliyah sprinted up the floor ahead of the defense, allowing her teammates to find her and get easy buckets at the rim. On defense, her speed was an asset for Team 11. Though the Park Center guard is smaller than most players on the floor, her ability to move laterally allowed her to consistently keep her opponents in front and stop drives to the basket. Robinson also showed off a variety of polished finishes at the rim throughout the showcase.     The Sophomore ID Camp was our first chance to evaluate Zillmer's game. Standing at 5'7, the Maple Grove guard has a sturdy build with plenty of strength on her frame. While she isn't necessarily the quickest or most explosive player on the court, Madeline has a strong grasp on the fundamentals, which she displayed all afternoon. In terms of her offense, the Maple Grove sophomore found open looks on the perimeter, letting the ball fly from three-point range without hesitation. Following a strong summer with the [program_tooltip program_id='712665' first='Metro' last='Stars'] 2029 Black team, Zillmer's development will be worth keeping an eye on in the coming years.
