Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. Around 90 players made the journey to the Champions Center for the event, and there were plenty of notable players to highlight. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. There will be a few players I'll highlight later due to number changes and to be sure I know who I took notes on. That said, let's look at some of the players from Team Two who impressed yesterday.

The Madison native did the little things you want to see from young forwards. She was willing to set solid screens on the perimeter and helped her guards operate in space. I think she could end up being a kid who gets a few open layups as a roller. She worked well around the basket and was a physical kid in the paint. I liked what she brought as a frontcourt prospect in an environment that doesn't always reward her strengths.

Check thinks the game well and overall has an approach to the game you don't find in players much older than her, and may not even find in professionals. She never gets too high or too low, and takes every possession one at a time. She is a skilled kid who can handle the ball and create off the dribble. She can score from all three levels and create her shot from each. I also think she may have the best footwork as a shooter that I've seen in my time around Wisconsin.

Bartine was another player I don't remember seeing before, but she caught my attention. She has the physical tools that will catch people's attention the second she steps on the floor. The DeForest native has the length that can affect any game she plays in, and she did her best work around the basket on both ends. She reminds me a lot of the post player the Norskies have right now, and if she sticks with basketball, she will keep getting better under the staff at DeForest.

Arnold is an undersized forward, but she makes up for it with her motor. She's willing to be physical on both ends of the floor and sets a tone in the paint. However, one thing I noticed is how much she wants to use the post moves she's learned around the basket. Right now, she has to think about where her next step goes in the post. As that becomes second nature and not something she has to think about, she'll take her game to the next level.

The Oak Creek native is a smaller guard who played well off the ball. I thought she shot the ball well on the perimeter and spaced the floor well for her teammates. She also doesn't get caught ball-watching on the defensive end and showed some athletic tools she can work with at the high school level. She's a little undersized, but she has the athleticism to make up for it.
