PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase Team 7 Evaluations: Part Two

Another PGH Wisconsin Freshman Showcase is in the books. About 90 players made the trip to the Champions Center, and plenty of notable players stood out. We will look at the 5v5 teams and discuss what each player brought to the table when I saw them play. I'll highlight a few players later because of number changes and to make sure I know who I noted. That said, let's look at some of the players from Team Seven who impressed in Appleton.    The future Dominican Knight is a physical post player who can affect the game in multiple facets. Burns is a 5-11 forward who can space the floor or overpower defenders around the rim. She also showed things that made me think she could operate as a wing if she improves, but she will be a versatile frontcourt player for the Knights. She will be one of the more skilled fives that we've seen coming into high school; I liked her game.     Blom was a player I hadn't seen much before the showcase. However, she can excel at Notre Dame over the next few seasons. She has the skill to operate with the ball in her hands, and is as unselfish as you'll find in a setting that rewards selfish tendencies. I also thought she moved well away from the ball and could thrive as a cutter for the Tritons.     The Milwaukee-area native has some of the best physical tools you'll find in her class. Brown is a physical and athletic wing who can outrun and overpower most players at her age level right now. She was at her best when attacking the basket and was most comfortable when she could turn the corner and get her initial defender behind her. She will be a player coaches will game plan for this winter; she's that impactful, and I will be curious how she handles being put in positions where she isn't most comfortable, and how she responds. She has a high ceiling and could be one of the better players in the state in the 2030 class.     The Central Wisconsin native has the physical tools that will catch anyone's attention when she walks into a gym. Rychter is a 6-0 rangy kid who can space the floor and knock down shots while playing next to two power-four talents. She also moves fairly well defensively and could make plays on the ball in a conference where her team will have a major talent advantage. She has a ways to go before coming close to her ceiling, but she could be an impactful kid in her first season of high school ball.
