Young, Tough, & Resilient. Those would be the three words that I would use to describe everyone listed below while speaking about the each individuals demeanor whenever they take the floor. With over 75 prospects in the building, these six demonstrated what it meant to play out each possession until the whistle blew - giving full effort throughout.

KHM had her moments throughout this event. Kelbi came into this Showcase with a target on her back while she is being considered for the #1 spot out of the 2031 Class moving into this Winter. Everyone in this Class has been watching Maher from afar and now they finally had a chance to see how they matched up against her. For the most part, I thought that KMH held her own for her position. She was put into some tough situations with a lot of attention for her but that's a good thing. It showed her glimpses of what the future is going to hold over the next five years as she takes the Varsity floor at Cedar Rapids - Washington High School.

I have a feeling that Winnie Cowherd is going to be the new face and PG of Dowling Catholic High School. Cowherd, the 5'5 Guard, is a natural coming down the floor with the ball. She is young but seasoned in her abilities to get her open teammates the rock both in half court and while running in transition. If things happen to clog up and slow down she is able to bring it out and run her team's offense as well if need be. She does possess a solid scoring ability but her main job over the next few seasons will be to Assist those around her at a high rate and I think she is going to kill that objective as she continues to grow within this game. Defensively, she can create a lot of chaos. We saw that first hand at this event and i'm sure we will see more of that this Winter as well.

Audrey Danler possesses a ton of promise as a Guard. Offensively, Danler already has a signature step-back move that usually puts her defenders on skates. If it doesn't, she is lengthy and quick enough to still get the shot off with the space she creates originally. When things get tough, Danler locks in mentally more than ever. Instead of getting upset and emotional, she takes it as a challenge and makes some things happen in a positive sort of way. That's what coaches love to see. I'm expecting the college interest to be there for this one over the next few seasons. If she continues to build up her offensive bag while keeping it simple when possible - she should continue to get better with time/experience as she continues to grow up.

I have NO clue if Jordan Steverson is going to get the nod to play Varsity ball as an 8th grader this Winter at Assumption High School but I do think she is skilled enough too. Steverson is lightning quick, she makes smart plays when she gets into the teeth of the defense off the dribble, she competes with a ton of positive energy in general, and she has that chip-on-her-shoulder mentality that could take her places at the next level some day. Steverson made some eye-opening plays at this event on both sides of the ball. She led at times from the PG position, she moved off to the 2 and 3 while still producing in little ways, and she didn't slouch on defense. All in all, a really good showing for someone we didn't know too much about prior to this event.

Kami Clark is going to be a stock-riser over the next two years. When you take into consideration that she will be the big dawg at Carlisle and she is going to be on a new AAU team that is going to give her a chance to be seen by a bunch of coaches on the road - her interest she rise from the next level. At this event Clark had a solid day. She didn't go crazy on offense or anything but that's not always what it's about. It's about how you can help your teams and Clark has to be more of a game manager than anything else. Did she have moments where she did score? Of course but she demonstrated more of a balanced attack on offense while doing a little bit of everything for the squad she was on and that's something you have to respect.

I have said it once and i'll say it again - everyone needs to watch out for Cedar Falls High School over the next 4-5 years at the very least because they have some kids who can GO. Someone that did a good job of holding her own during this event at the 3/4 spot was Laina Ford. Ford is a versatile 5'11/6'0. She can move and produce for your team on the inside when she has a smaller matchup and she can produce on the outside when someone bigger might be switched onto her depending on the situation. She is someone that always keeps the defense on their toes because of her constant movement and that makes her a tough prospect to keep track of if you are defender. We should see steady amounts of Ford this Winter for Cedar Falls. They are going to be a younger roster so I expect players like this to step up each and every night as we move deeper into the Winter.
