KMH was in good form during this event as she moves into the first week of 8th grade next week in Cedar Rapids. Hodges made easy work of everything that was put in front of her throughout the day, all while being a vocal leader for everyone in the gym. She made plays coming down the floor on offense as the PG, getting to anywhere she wanted with ease. She posted up smaller/weaker defenders that were stuck on her consistently. She defended every position at one point or anther – holding her own each time. All in all, she killed it. There was some real talent in the gym this morning and this was the best of the best. This Winter Maher-Hodges will be the head of Cedar Rapids – Washington High School’s program as they look to make it back to the State Tournament for back-to-back seasons. If you ask anyone who knows the 2031 Class around the state in depth, they will all agree that this is the #1 2031 in Iowa. The versatility, the size, the knowledge of the game, the positive energy – it all combines together to create one of the better overall players we have seen throughout our time of doing this. As long as she stays consistent within her own process, she is going to be on a D1 roster before you can blink.

Kelbi Hodges is one of the state’s best prospects out of the 2031 Class at this point in her journey and we should be able to see her this Winter at the Varsity level now that 8th graders can compete in Varsity sports beginning this Winter. Hodges has put together a very impressive AAU season so far and she is looking to finish it with a bang throughout the rest of July. This Spring/Summer she has been a handful for every opponent that has stepped in her way. Her quick handles, her natural responses on both offense and defense, combined with her athletic ability and killer instincts make for an extremely tough guard for anyone at her age level right now and that’s been really obvious. I’m not sure where Kelbi is going to end up for high school ball but wherever it is, is getting a baller who could change their program over the next five years.

KMH is regarded as the #1 rated prospect out of the 2031 Class within Iowa and as of right now, I have to agree. We still have a year or so to go before this group hits the high school ranks but KMH is going to be someone to note before that time anyways. She is the star of Lady Martin Bro’s program while being a next level competitor. She already stands at 5’9 with a tight handle, superior athleticism, and a dominant behavior. She can really do it all on the floor for her team’s at this moment, no matter who she is lacing up with. It’s going to be important that KMH goes to a good high school to continue on with her progression but other than that, I’m sure this is someone who is going to leave it all on the court while putting up big time stat lines over her high school career one day. She just has to get there first.

has been a name we have spoken about consistently leading up to this event and for good reason. Maher-Hodges has the chance to be special. She is an uber athletic hooper, that always makes her mark in one way or another when she takes the floor. My knock on Kelbi up to this point has been her shooting ability but it seems like she is righting those issues at this time. Yesterday she hit several jump-shots, while still doing her usual work. If KMH continues to work on that and she stays in love with the game, who knows how far she will truly be able to take things. At this event she looked promising as a future collegiate prospect.

There are some top-notch prospects out of the 2031 Class but KMH might be the best by the time that she gets to the high school ranks.

is going to have a chance to be special as a future D1 prospect. She is the definition of a dawg right now, she has the mixture of size and athletic ability that all coaches love, and she is EXTREMELY dedicated to the game. I’m expecting KMH to be one of the best players in the gym come this weekend. Whenever she competes, she is a standout and more-so a walking highlight reel so the expectations are high but that’s a good thing. Pressure changes everything and KMH is ready to show everyone watching that pressure will not impact her in the slightest.

will have a debate for being the #1 player out of her 2031 Class when that times comes. Maher-Hodges is athletic, a quick thinker, and extremely skilled on both sides of the ball at this moment in time. Her jumper is seeming to come along offensively and if that comes together prior to her playing Varsity ball in a few years, everyone better watch out. Maher-Hodges can blow past anyone that might stand in her way defensively off the bounce. If she stays being consistent when shooting from deep, then no one should be able to stop her over her high school career. We still have a few years until this time comes but this is definitely another hooper to keep an eye on. She was a standout today and I’m sure she is only going to get better with experience.
