is an active defender and high-motor player who makes her presence felt on both ends of the floor.
Holverson has good hands and a nose for the ball, often disrupting passing lanes and creating deflections. On the ball, she is physical and slides her feet well.
She can be a bit over-aggressive at times, which occasionally puts her out of position, but her energy and effort are undeniable.
Destini is a strong rebounder from her position and consistently makes hustle plays that spark her team. She’s a willing passer who moves the ball well and looks to make the right play. Destini also has a good handle and is a solid finisher capable of getting hers when her team needs it.
Overall, Holverson’s activity, toughness, and team-first mentality make her a valuable piece on the floor.

at this event a few years ago until now, she has gotten exponentially better as a decision maker and overall prospect. Holverson used to be one of those that shot it every time she touched the ball but not anymore. Now she plays with smarts and calculated aggression. There were SEVERAL times that she snuck behind her defender into open spaces for easy looks at the basket and within the open court during the day on Sunday. She even rebounded a few times under the hoop for some simple put-backs when those opportunities presented themselves. It’s no simple task to be able to compete at Millard North. The Mustangs knows how to ball and they know how to win but if Holverson continues to grow in her play-style, who knows how far she might take things. She is only a 2028 so there is still a lot of time left on the board.

I don’t expect Destini Holverson to compete on the Varsity floor this Winter a ton but I do think that she is going to be a future producer for her Mustangs squad before her high school career comes to a close. Holverson was a prospect that showed up to our PGH Showcase in October and she demonstrated her willingness on both ends. Offensively, she stayed aggressive and seek opportunities every time down the floor. Defensively, she stuck to her strengths and she played scrappy leading to steals or turnovers by the opposition. Her progression over the next few seasons will be crucial but it’s more than possible that she locks in and becomes someone that we hear more about as times moves forward.

The Millard North Mustangs system is one that has solid production at all grade levels. No matter who is competing, they do a great job as a program to progress their players over time, making them respectable Varsity prospects by the end of it. Someone that is going to learn with experience in big moments will be Destini Holverson. Holverson is a good player with a lot of room to grow, just like everyone at this age. During this event, Holverson demonstrated a little bit of skill within everything she was attempting to accomplish. From a guard perspective, this is someone that can definitely make some waves over the next couple of years. That’s for sure.
