With a full high school season behind them and opportunities to play in front of college coaches and evaluators over the Spring and Summer, several kids in the 2029 class in Georgia earned higher rankings since the last update. Some of these players are moving up just a few spots near the top of the list, while others will see a drastic rise as a result of their outstanding play. The highest ranking to change was at the number five spot and there is a familiar name moving into the Top Ten.

After watching Elle compete with Tennessee United and Jefferson over the Summer a couple things were clear. Number one she is very motivated after not seeing the court as a freshman and rightly so. Number Two she was playing mad and with a point to prove in my evaluations this Summer. She is coming out of volleyball season now after Jefferson was knocked out in the Elite Eight and will be with the basketball team when their season starts. You cannot teach 6'2 and with Johnson's ability to run and leap very well to go with it, she will be a Power Four player in college. She will be visiting Clemson, Virginia Tech, App State, and Coastal Carolina over the next few months. It will be a battle for the top spot in the region with North Oconee with both teams in the preseason top 10 in AAAAA. My prediction is at the end of the season, Elle will be voted player of the year in that region and add other schools to her offer list with Wofford.

Players over 6' with the agility and skill that Niya has are rare, especially when they are just sophomores. Daniels is long and very athletic which is hard to miss when you watch [program_tooltip program_id='713173' first='Wood' last='Elite'] or Commerce play. Equally as impressive is her fluidity slashing to the basket. Daniels has a knack for avoiding defenders around the rim while staying totally under control. She finishes very well with both hands from three feet in and continues to add more depth to her range outside of the paint. Daniels is coming off a freshman season that saw her average over 12 points, 7.6 rebounds, nearly two steals, and over a block a game. She currently has offers from North Carolina A&T and Gardner-Webb. The transplant from New Jersey is still known to some schools in the region, but not for long. I expect Niya to add multiple offers this high school season. In a very tough region with a lot of talented players, she is the best prospect in my opinion and should have a very strong chance at player of the year.

Payton's productivity is starting to catch up her potential as I saw dramatic improvement from Palmer this Spring and Summer. I wasn't the only one as Georgia Southern, Howard, and St. Johns joined Alabama A&M in extending scholarship offers. Payton is getting comfortable in her body after a pretty drastic growth spurt which saw her grow several inches in a short period of time. She utilized her length well and her natural athleticism is starting to show as well. Palmer has worked hard to improve on her shot from the midrange and behind the three-point line and that was clear watching Whitfield Academy play at GBCA Live and [program_tooltip program_id='1237402' first='HER' last='Elite'] numerous times this Summer. Palmer is getting more confident slashing the basket with the basketball and blocking shots defensively. I think she is nowhere near being as good as she will be even after a period of obvious growth on the court.

I am not sure any player had a better Spring and Summer not just in AAA or North Georgia, but the entire state. Whether it was at the North Georgia Team Camp in June or at the Sophomore ID camp, [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] was dominant on the offensive end. At nearly 6' tall she is a legit threat to score the ball inside and out, with excellent athleticism to go with great length. Bristol dominated the Prep Girls Hoops Sophomore ID Camp, just as she did in June with Union County. Bristol is a very skilled and crafty player on the offensive end who has no problem creating time or the space needed to get off her shot. She is very crafty on the interior using head fakes and her pivot very well on up and under moves. [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] is too quick for bigger forwards to guard on the perimeter making her a mismatch for a lot of teams she will face this season.

Jackson was one of the very best players in the area as a little kid growing and playing on the I-85 corridor past Gwinnett County. Kenyanna was the quickest player on the court 99% of the time and her anticipation skills on the defensive end led to Commerce blowing almost everyone they played out in elementary and especially middle school (I saw her score 20 plus points in games countless times). It was no surprise to see her having a big impact on a very good team throughout the season last year. Jackson finished averaging 10 points, almost 4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and over FOUR steals per game. That's right, Kenyanna broke the school record for steals in a season, as just a freshman, with 121. Quick math says she is on pace to record almost 500 in her career. Jackson shot 34% for the season and was right at 30% from three-point range. Those are not bad numbers, but I know her percentages will continue to improve over the next four years.
