Manor Reloads: Mustangs Set to Defend Class 4A Crown

The Manor Mustangs enter the season preparing to defend their 2025–2026 Class 4A state championship after a 26–1 finish. Coach Roger Smith and his staff return the Class 4A Player of the Year and a defensive force inside. Meanwhile, an incoming transfer guard adds another piece to a roster built to contend again. However, defending the crown will require major contributions from the Mustangs' established core. With a target on their backs in every gym, Manor must prepare for every opponent's best shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='741652' first='Brianna' last='Norman'] arrives at Manor following a strong freshman campaign, bringing a case as Virginia's top 2029 point guard. A coach on the floor, Norman commands the offense while setting the tone defensively at the front of the press. Moreover, her impact extends beyond her skill set, with an advanced basketball IQ shaping her decisions on both ends. She sees the floor, anticipates developing plays, and keeps teammates organized throughout the game. Consequently, Norman is already drawing Division I attention early in her high school career.

Jones is an eraser inside, using her length and athleticism to shut down the paint. Consequently, opponents must generate offense outside against Manor's aggressive guards, a difficult assignment in its own right. That perimeter pressure thrives with Jones protecting the middle and cleaning up breakdowns behind it. Beyond her defensive presence, Jones is an underrated rebounder who helps ignite Manor's offense. After securing possession, she quickly finds a guard to initiate the attack. Ultimately, Jones gives the Mustangs an interior foundation that makes their success possible.

Babb, the reigning Class 4A Player of the Year, is an explosive left-handed guard who scores in bunches. A natural slasher, she attacks the basket and finishes effectively through traffic. Meanwhile, her relentless defensive pressure makes her equally dangerous on the other end. Using her speed and quick reactions, Babb can intercept errant passes and turn defense into immediate offense. As a result, her ability to create scoring opportunities on both ends remains central to Manor's championship defense.

Kenon has the talent to stand out in any backcourt, underscoring the depth of Manor's guard rotation. The multi-sport athlete brings agility to her on-ball defense and handles pressure comfortably with the ball in her hands. In turn, her ability to navigate that pressure creates scoring opportunities for teammates. However, defenses cannot afford to overlook her own scoring ability. When given space, Kenon has proven effective from beyond the arc, adding another dimension to Manor's attack.

With proven stars, defensive anchors, and backcourt depth, Manor has the pieces to defend its Class 4A crown.
