The OK Red was loaded with talent a season ago, and that isn't expected to change much heading into 2026-27. Rockford finished a perfect 10-0 in conference play to capture the OK Red championship, with Grand Haven right behind at 8-2 and Hudsonville finishing 6-4. While four First Team All-Conference selections graduated, plenty of proven talent remains throughout the conference. Several teams bring back players who have already earned All-Conference recognition, along with younger players who gained valuable experience and could be ready for bigger roles this winter. With established players returning throughout the standings and teams looking to challenge Rockford at the top, the OK Red should once again be one of the most talented and competitive conferences in the area. Here's a look at some of the returning players to know heading into the season.

Addison returns for her junior season at Rockford as one of the top guards in the OK Red after earning First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State honors as a sophomore. The 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals per game while helping the Rams finish 21-3 and capture the OK Red championship with a perfect 10-0 record. Addison brings a well-rounded game to the floor, combining her quick first step with the ability to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. She is dangerous from beyond the arc, showing range well past the three-point line, and can create separation with her step-back jumper. When she attacks the basket, she plays with good body control and keeps her head up to find open teammates. Defensively, she uses her size and active hands to disrupt opposing guards. Already committed to Ball State, Addison will be a major piece for Rockford as the Rams look to defend their conference title and make another postseason run.

There aren't many players in the OK Red who can change a game quite like Mallory. At 6-foot-4, the Grand Haven senior presents a difficult matchup with her ability to control the glass, protect the rim and finish efficiently around the basket. She is especially impressive defensively, where her timing, length and athleticism allow her to block shots, disrupt passing lanes and create opportunities for her team. Last season, she averaged 13.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 3.2 blocks while shooting 68 percent from the field. Her ability to contribute in so many areas was a big reason the Buccaneers continued their postseason success, reaching the Division 1 quarterfinals for the second consecutive season. Mallory also earned Second Team All-State recognition for her efforts. While she is headed to Michigan State to continue her volleyball career, basketball fans in the OK Red will have one more season to watch her make life difficult for opposing teams.

Aries returns to lead the East Kentwood backcourt for her senior season after earning First Team All-Conference honors a year ago. She is a high-energy guard who brings leadership, toughness and a competitive mentality to both ends of the floor. Aries does a nice job running the offense, using her shifty ball handling to navigate pressure while creating opportunities for her teammates. She is also capable of providing offense herself, showing the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter, including from beyond the arc. What makes Aries particularly valuable is the effort and intensity she brings defensively. She applies pressure to opposing ball handlers, anticipates passes well and uses her timing to come away with steals and even block shots. Her willingness to compete on every possession sets the tone for those around her. With another year of experience under her belt, Aries will be an important leader for East Kentwood as the Falcons look to compete in a talented OK Red this winter.

West Ottawa has one of the most versatile players in the OK Red in Jana, a 6-foot-1 junior guard who can make an impact just about anywhere on the floor. Coming off a sophomore season in which she earned Second Team All-State honors, Jana has already proven she can put up big numbers, averaging 19.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.4 blocks per game. What makes her such a difficult matchup is the variety of ways she can score. She can knock down shots from beyond the arc, pull up in the mid-range or use her length and athleticism to attack the basket and finish through contact. Jana also has good footwork around the rim and can use shot fakes to create scoring opportunities. On the defensive end, she is an impressive shot blocker for a guard and competes well on the glass. With three 30-point performances already on her résumé from last season, Jana has the ability to take over games and should be one of the most exciting players to watch in the OK Red this winter.

Brynnly is a player whose stock has continued to rise, and she enters her junior season at Grandville with plenty of momentum after an impressive summer. She earned First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore and followed that up with several big performances on the AAU circuit that helped her recruitment take off. Playing with MBA 16U UAA, Brynnly competed up in the 17U division at the PGH MI State Tournament, where she helped lead her team to a championship while earning First Team All-Tournament honors and co-MVP recognition. Her championship performance was especially impressive, as she poured in 25 points and connected on seven three-pointers. While her shooting ability can take over a game, Brynnly brings much more to the floor. She has excellent court vision, makes smart decisions with the basketball and consistently creates scoring opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to score and facilitate makes her a dangerous guard to defend. After a summer that put her on the radar of more college coaches, Brynnly will be an exciting player to follow in the OK Red this winter.
