Over the last few days we have shifted our focus to this season's freshman class and have primarily focused on those who do most of their work in the backcourt. Here, we now turn our attention to the frontcourt – specifically those youngsters who either play at either the three or the four.

Without further ado, here is a look at a few 2028 small forwards and power forwards that fans here in the Hoop State will want to have in their back on their minds when watching games over the next several months.

A theme has developed with our most recent 2028 articles. These are names that we here at Prep Girls Hoops vividly remember from the Freshman Showcase a few months back at the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center. Mogbo's 4A Holly Springs team may have had a down year last season as the Golden Hawks only prevailed in four of their contests last season. At 5-foot-10, one can expect her pile up the number of rebounds she gets and for her to win plenty of tough battles on the boards. Mogbo is also a skilled rim attacker. With her on the team, expect for Holly Springs' fortunes to start turning around.

Alexander must be doing something very just on the basketball court as evidenced by the offers she has obtained. UNC-Charlotte, Gardner-Webb, UNC-Wilmington and Longwood have all offered this talented youngster. Wearing the uniform of one of the premier private school programs in the Hoop State in Concord Academy will certainly do wonders for one's recruitment. Alexander first played at the varsity level with the Eagles as an eighth grader. She led Concord Academy to another successful season as the Eagles went 20-4. Alexander averaged 20 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals a contest.

Speaking of Eagles notables, Mack's production took a major step forward last season. She may have played her first season at Concord Academy as a seventh grader but it was in her eighth grade year where she displayed that her development was trending in the correct direction. In the 24 games the Eagles competed in last season, Mack posted averages of 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals a contest. She has no problems drawing contact to get to the free throw line, knows how to make accurate passes while running the floor and also is willing to fall to the floor to complete a play.

Hicks does not throw up many bricks. She previously played at NC GBB Academy and then followed it up by running on the grassroots realm with [program_tooltip program_id='713540' first='Team' last='Curry'] 15U. Hicks is looking ahead to a successful first season with 4A Panther Creek – a team that concluded the 2023-24 season with a record of 24-5. In addition, the Catamounts compiled a perfect 14-0 mark in its Southeast Wake conference. Hicks can efficiently play at the three but can switch to guard mode with her rim attacking capabilities. She particularly can give opposing teams problems as a defender and can also connect on her jump shots.
