ND Class AA EDC Preview – Fargo Shanley Deacons

She is a good ball handler and sees the floor well. Her size makes it difficult for smaller guards to keep her off the offensive glass. Last season, she averaged 5.7 points per game, shooting a respectable 33.3% from behind the arc. She is a tall, athletic guard. Her shooting ability is very impressive for how young she is. She has a quick first step and good jumping ability. Once her feet are set, she is a very good shooter. She has a couple of local Division 1 offers from UND and NDSU. Rylee has the ability to take smaller defenders down low, but also stretch the floor with her shooting. Last season as only an 8th grader, she averaged 8.3 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds. Look for those numbers to improve this season. She is only a 7th grader, but you will be shocked at what she is able to do. What makes Jaya so special is the combination of talent with the work ethic required to be great. She can get to the rim with a variety of finishes, pull up for a jump shot, or make you pay from 3 for sagging off of her defensively. Jaya is incredibly competitive as well. Look for Jaya to be a Star in the league.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Shanley Deacons have all of the pieces to be very competitive in the EDC. I predict them finishing in the top half of the league with a good chance to make it back to the state tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
