In this article, we look at guards who improved their game. In the past, they showed flashes of their game amid up and down play, but over this past year, these players have shown noticeable improvements in their game. The improvements range from scoring, improved skill sets, increased athleticism, and enhanced playmaking abilities.

Styles really played well this past travel season and just showed consistency in a lot of areas. Her athleticism and speed on the court were traits to marvel at. She showed a lot of speed on the court on both sides of the floor. On defense, she constantly applied on-ball pressure and was consistently coming up with steals and impactful defensive plays. Her foot speed prevented players from getting by her, and her quick hands allowed her to get steals or deflect passes to create turnovers. Offensively, Styles was just as consistent. Her three-point shooting was very good and her play in the transition game was even better. Her rise in the rankings is attributed to her talent and the consistent manner in which she performed.

Deleon has been on the radar for the past year, and she has really handled business over that time. Deleon was a standout at the Prep Girl Expo. It was there we saw her explosive first step up close. Her ability to get by defenders is consistent and scary good. She has speed and great ball-handling skills that allow her to penetrate through defenses and score the ball. Deleon has elite scoring ability and can shoot the jumper and create her own shot off of the dribble when necessary. Deleon made it to the State playoffs with the help of talented teammates. Her playmaking ability allows for her teammates to excel on the floor. Deleon's speed and playmaking ability open up the floor for her teammates to score jumpers as well as shots around the rim. Deleon's consistent playmaking has resulted in a move up the rankings. She is poised to have a great Senior season which could lead to another rise up the rankings.

Martin becomes one of the top "lights out" shooters in the 2025 class. Martin stands out on the floor. Her grit and ability to shoot the rock come to mind. Last year, Martin knocked down 44 threes, and she has already started out on a good note in 2024. Martin attended several showcases over the summer and stood out every time with her ability to shoot the rock. At one showcase, one of the college coaches singled Martin out because of her shooting abilities. He was more surprised when she missed a shot than when she made one. Martin's consistent shooting and scoring ability are her bread and butter. She is primed for a special season and will have a huge impact on her team's success this upcoming season.

Boyd played well last year and helped get her team to the final four in Lakeland before bowing out to the eventual state champions. Boyd plays and excels in a versatile style of game. She shoots the three very well and has consistently been a good three-point shooter. Boyd does a good job in a lot of areas. She can handle the ball, and run the offense or she can stay aggressive on the wing and shoot three-point shots. The ability to do both speaks of her versatility. Boyd was consistently good this past AAU travel season with her defensive play. Her ability to apply great pressure on the ball was an improvement in her game. Boyd has also shown great leadership skills and consistent performances regardless of the competition. . She helped lead her young team to the Final 4 last season.

Brown enters the rankings near the top 100s, and her stock continues to rise. Brown has demonstrated great leadership since she arrived at Ribault. Her ability to connect with her team over the summer was telling since she had only been with her new team for a short period, and they were following her lead. Brown can score from all areas on the floor. She is a rhythm shooter, and once she gets it going, it's a bucket waiting to happen. Brown improved her shooting over the past year. During the travel season and especially during the live period. Brown's consistent performance led her to a solid AAU season and a trip up the rankings.

Marshall continues her rise in the rankings, and her increased responsibilities have been a big part of the equation. Marshall has had an appearance in the State playoffs, and her game has gotten increasingly better: ball handling, attacking the rim, developing a deadly crossover, and scoring at all levels on the court. Consequently, her production has increased immensely. Enhanced leadership has also played a role in Marshall's rise in the rankings. On her new team, she has shown leadership on and off the court, and that has left an impression on the young players on her team.

ability

In this article, we look at guards who improved their game. In the past, they showed flashes of their game amid up and down play, but over this past year, these players have shown noticeable improvements in their game. The improvements range from scoring, improved skill sets, increased athleticism, and enhanced playmaking abilities.
