Dana Hall had its first game last night and suffered a tough loss against Austin Prep. Although they came up short, Koharu was a shining spot for them. Tanaka mad it her point to keep her team within distance and her 19 points were impactful; she really picked the pace up for DH. The speedy guard was doing it all. Koharu demonstrated a nice pullup jumper, dove behind the defense and started the break countless amounts of time. Her finishes at the rim were top tier; Tanaka is not afraid to take it to the heart of the defense.

Ruby led all scorers in the game vs. Dana Hall. The lead guard was a steady bucket all night. She was able to find her shot within the offense and made defenders commit, which opened up things for her teammates. Thompson's confidence shined bright through the game; its apparent she has been in the gym. The hard work has culminated in her starting the year off very strong. Expect Ruby to keep this energy throughout the season for Austin Prep. They are one of the stronger teams in the league.

[player_tooltip player_id='998269' first='Fope' last='Ayo'] (2026) | 6'5 C | Austin Prep

The big-name star commands a lot of attention and that was no different in the game last night vs Dana Hall. Her presence alone is enough of a threat. Her commanding nature made it fairly easy to get on the glass as she gave her team extra possessions. She was heavily focused on by Dana Hall, so the basketball was able to get out to other shooters and shared amongst the creators. Fope made Dana Hall's drivers second guess their lane attacks with her stifling defense. She is a major figure between the lane-lanes. Ayo posted a stat-line of 10 pts, 11 reb and 4 blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057795' first='Athena' last='Thompson'] (2026) | 5'9 Wing | Putnam Science Academy

Athena has had a wonderful first week to the season, especially as a fresh transfer. Thompson came straight from over the waters and has made an instant statement in New England so far. In a game vs Darrow, Athena scored 20 pts, 6 reb and 5 steals in an overtime battle where she led the team to a hard-fought victory. She then followed that performance up with a 2-game stretch of games where she averaged over 30 pts, 6 reb and 6 steals. Athena led PSA over Newman in another overtime win; she was a key feature in that win as well. What's absurd about all of this is, Thompson has been primarily guarding the other team's best players and finding success. She's a stellar isolation defender on the top scorers, but also an incredibly valuable help defender. Keep an eye on where Athena could land in the upcoming '26 rankings after some of these stately performances.

[player_tooltip player_id='486083' first='Bella' last='Miele'] (2026) | 5'5 PG | Marianapolis

Bella was a stunning talent last year for Marlborough and after transferring to Marianapolis, she has already started flourishing. Currently the #20-point guard, Bella is certainly a stock-riser at the position. Miele's fluid ballhandling gave her full control over last night's game vs Nobles. Her crafty moves had defenders guessing what she was going to do next. The smooth point guard was able to get to her most effective spots deep behind the first layer of defense and was able to knock down some shots from outside. Bellas's game was effective, but never felt forced. Her high IQ and lurid playmaking abilities allowed her to be highly productive against one of the best overall teams. She finished the game with 18 points.
