Expert Analysis
Avi Burmenko | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Jenna played well at the Cohasset Holiday Hoopfest, standing out in games against both Georgetown and Braintree and earning an All-Tournament Team nomination. She uses her long reach effectively on the defensive end, blocking shots and pulling down rebounds, and is especially impactful around the free-throw line against zone defenses, where she catches, reads, and makes plays. For a player of her height, she has an impressive handle and is capable of leading the break when needed.

Jenna is a two-time Patriot League All-Star and is committed to playing Division I basketball at Merrimack. She is an excellent finisher with both hands and a dominant defensive presence in the paint, using her length to deter and block shots. Smaller defenders struggle to score when she is on the floor. She also stands out for her ball-handling ability, confidently putting the ball on the floor well, especially given her height.

There’s a plethora of pros with Mishou. The incredible length at 6’2 allows her to affect both sides of the ball innately. Jenna committed to Merrimack earlier this period and what a talent they’re getting. Sure, she can be play with a bit of finesse on offense, which can pose its own worries in college, but it’s obvious how very gifted she is. The previously mentioned length as well as coordination and nimbleness can easily combat that general power other may display. Her propensity to influence the game is just staggering. There’s so much to like about her game; Mishou can function well with the ball in her hands, excels in transition, she finishes well at and around the rim, her shooting range is extended, gets to the line consistently, plus she’s extremely agile, especially for someone her size. Not to mention, the defense she provides can be absolutely staggering.

Featured a handful of times this season, Mishou has had yet another outstanding game that must be noted. The 6’2 unicorn-like player offers a tremendous amount of value. There aren’t many players at her position that can do the things she does and have the level of production she has with the success to follow. Jenna just put up a staggering 34 pts, 8 reb, with 5 blocks, numbers that seem like they’re from a video game. The impact she has on the floor is immense. It’s incredible to watch a player with this size move so gracefully, especially in terms of getting up the floor. Many bigs just can’t keep up with her. Now add a soft touch with a plethora of finishes plus reliable shot creation from her spots and that makes a nightmare matchup. The defense hasn’t even been mentioned yet. With Mishou’s timing on her blocks it’s hard for anyone to get a clean look. Her super long arms allow her to affect the ball even when it may seem like she’s out of reach. This is a special player that’s seemingly improving each time she touches the floor. Expect Mishou’s ranking on the site to reflect the distinctive skillset.

Jenna has been featured multiple times this month, but this is a testament to how incredible she’s been recently. Mishou has a sound argument for being one of the most versatile bigs in her class. Not only because of the high scoring games she’s been putting up lately, but the efficiency she provides, plus the impact on defense separates her from the pack. Although her 30 points came in a loss to Cathedral the other night, her performance was indicative of her overall gifts. She went 8/8 from the free-throw line, 4/5 from 3-point line while adding 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals. Jenna has all the momentum rolling into February.

Although recently covered in an article, it’s a must include Jenna is this conversation too. Mishou brings a noticeable amount of versatility as a big. She can take centers off the dribble, shows creation skills, has excellent vision, demonstrates diverse agility and plays dominant defense. Mishou is a major factor for Archbishop Williams this season. She’s a prospect that could very well receive a slew of offers by the end of the year. The length combined with the skillset leaves her celling remarkably high. Mishou is a player that has received an offer from Providence early on, so it’s clear she’s a next level talent. There will be an abundance of schools looking for an archetype like Jenna.
