Welcome back to the second article revealing the 2024-25 Miss Tennessee basketball finalist. I am your host Brandon Tinnon and I am here on stage with________. Sorry, I was having a gameshow host moment.

As I mentioned before, this will be a six-part article showcasing each classification finalist for the Miss Tennessee award. In this article, I would like to showcase the top hoopers who were nominated as finalists for the DII-AA class. Please remember that I don't have a say in who makes it and that the honor goes to those who had an exceptional body of work during the regular season. No postseason success factors into the process.

Coaches and media members from around the state (sorry, I am not one), took a pool of players and nominated the three top players in each classification. Unfortunately, we won't know the winners for a few weeks as a committee of sports writers from across the state come together and vote. There will be a ceremony at MTSU's Tucker Theatre on March 18th, announcing the winners of this year's awards.

This is a six-part article focusing on the nominees from each class. Without further ado, I would like to introduce to you the 2024-25 finalists from DII-AA.

The Clemson signee is a bucket for sure. This kid is extremely talented and works for everything she has earned. A 3 level scoring assassin who is all about business. She approaches the game with a different mindset. If you don't know, this kid is ultra competitive and works at her craft religiously. When its game time, she turns it up a notch. Buckets, defensive aggressiveness, she contributes in every facet of the game. She is trained to dominate, which is what she does. A sensational talent who is a big-time threat at all times.

Let it fly Ty! She's had such a great bounce back story to cap off her career. Extremely talented kid who will be taking her talents west to New Mexico. The Lobos got a steal in this young lady as she sauces the competition up Memphis BBQ style. She's a two-way player who scores at a high clip and defends like crazy. Add in her ability to netralize anything in front of her, she is one tough person to beat. Very talented kid who works hard at all times.

“Mo Mo” gets more buckets. The Iverson of female basketball, she has the swag and the game that speaks volumes. Came onto the scene as an 8th grader, even up for this award last year as well. She has been terroizing opponents like crazy, giving them fits along the way. She scores at a high clip, defends with the best of them, and really impacts the game in more ways than one. She is an exceptional talent who will eclipse new heights along her journey to greatness. Talented kid who is going to be a problem over the next couple of years.

These are the young ladies who missed the cut for being Division II-AA finalists. By no means should their accomplishments need to go unnoticed. Though they weren't a part of the three finalists, their body of work and style of play still need to be mentioned as they too have had a phenomenal season.

I have said it before, but this young lady has improved her game in so many ways throughout the course of her career. She went from a little know prospect to Tennessee Tech signee. Add this too, she went from being a role player to a intricate part of a Lady Irish attack. She did her time and did the grind. Averaging 17 points a game this year, she has eclipsed many benchmarks along the way. This kid is a champion for one, but add her body of work and what she does on the court, she is tough to handle. Though she didn't finish in the final three, she has still had a stellar career.

This kid is an absolute dawg. Period. I will add she is humble as well, but I am going to keep it 100 with you. She has size, speed, and knowledge of how to exploit opponents. She adapts beautifully, where she can work on the inside or attack from the arc. She has handles, defends, rebounds, you name. A selfless ballplayer who loves the game, works on her craft, and excels while uplifting her team in the process. The ultimate teammate who puts winning above all individual accolades.

Quiet assassin who is a marksman from the arc. She can knock it down from 3 at a consistent clip, but this year she has added more to her game. The mid-range is there, the finishing at the rim is there, the creativity is there as well. This kid knows how to utilize her body to position herself to get a clear shot off better than majority of the people in the state. Her is my example, when she comes off screens, she knows how to snake back, putting her defender on her hip, making it hard for them to squeeze in between her and the screen, allowing her a clear look at the rim. Heady ball player? She's that for sure. Has had a great year for the Lady Mustangs and will look to help propel them towards state contention.
