Brandon Tinnon | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
This kid is a pure shooter. Don’t get me wrong, there is more to her game than just shooting, but geez, she can truly feel it up. How she does it just amazes me. She’s added to her game, which is a feather in her cap. She went from a kid who utilized tons of screens to being a kid who could create off the dribble. She, too, can score inside the arc, but if given any space from deep, she will pull it and knock it down. The crazy thing is that she is super comfortable from the arc, which is a sign of ability and confidence. She is a special talent and a kid who can score points like no other.

She is confident to pull it 5ft from the 3-point line, yet she will put it on the floor to go get a layup. Her stock has surely risen due to the hard work she has put in this offseason. Keep tabs on this young lady because she is special.

Cool, calm, and collected, her demeanor doesn’t change as she gets after it on both ends of the floor. This 3 level scoring threat has had one of her best years. Won the D2AA Middle Region Tournament MVP and helped her team take home the Middle Region trophy as they wait for their turn to play in the next round in the quarterfinal in the D2-AA quarterfinal. Bella was hot throughout her the tournament as she dialed it up from deep and finished around the rim. She came in clutch when her team needed a bucket and hit some key free throws down the stretch to help seal the win over CPA in the championship game. Bella is a heady ballplayer who knows when and where to pick her spots to exploit. When she’s hot, she’s hard to stop. Quiet assassin who is a marksman from the arc. She can knock it down from 3 at a consistent clip, but this year she has added more to her game. The mid-range is there, the finishing at the rim is there, the creativity is there as well. This kid knows how to utilize her body to position herself to get a clear shot off better than majority of the people in the state. Her is my example, when she comes off screens, she knows how to snake back, putting her defender on her hip, making it hard for them to squeeze in between her and the screen, allowing her a clear look at the rim. Heady ball player? She’s that for sure. Has had a great year for the Lady Mustangs and will look to help propel them towards state contention.

Just a ball player who can fill it up. She’s a hungry individual who gets after it and can overcome whatever defense is thrown at her. Can play with the ball in her hands or without. She can get down hill and finish or unleash it from the arc with confidence, just know it’s going to through the bottom of the net. She’s been consistent throughout her high school career putting up double-digits each game. Bella doesn’t shy away from opponents or big time moments. She has ice in her veins and is willing to take whatever is given to her. She is still in growth mode, but her game is turned all the way up as she leads the Lady Mustangs of Lipscomb towards state contention.

Talk about a solid contributor, this young lady is Ms. Consistency. She is a scoring machine and she can do it from multiple spots on the floor. In previous seasons, you could say she had a spot up game and would be used coming off screens to knock down shots. This year, she has added more creativity to her game, attacking gaps to get downhill to finish around the rim or reach favorable spots in the mid-range. She’s a bucket and a big time leading catalyst on a talented Lady Mustangs squad. When she is on, the team follows her lead. Look for her to be solid down the stretch and help lead the Lady Mustangs towards state contention.

Smooth. Calm. Poise. Just a few words that describe this young lady’s game. If you personally know Bella, you would know that she is a gym rat who loves the process of getting better. Her game has evolved over the years and you can just tell she is in a comfortable place. Her shot looks great, her handles are tight, she contributes on the defensive end by getting steals, deflections, and rebounds. Her confidence to pull the trigger from multiple spots on the floor is crazy good. She plays so effortlessly and every time she touches the ball, you think something great is going to come out of it. She has a Stephen Curry-esque feel to her game. When I tell you when that shot goes up, everyone in the gym believes it is going in. Solid ball player who is on a tear and will continue to ascend on this upwards trajectory.

Led all scores with 20pts. She picked up her scoring barrage right where she left off from last year. This young lady came in clutch down the stretch and got the scoring run going to LA. She knocked down clutch shots from afar while getting paint touches with ease. Look for her to continue on this impressive streak of double digit scoring as she now has wingmen that can open up even more shot opportunities for her. Sensational talent that keeps getting better.

Shepherd is full of contagious energy on both ends of the floor. I was initially blown away by how hard she defended on the ball. She can be disruptive with a nice mixture of quick feet, hands, athleticism, and want to. Offensively she’s a really nice playmaker. Big time shooter, but also looks to get in the paint and create opportunities at the rim for herself or teammates. Nice vision and passing. Really tough when she breaks loose in transition.
