A District Championship Game to Remember

Grace Christian Academy vs Christian Academy of Knoxville will definitely be a game to remember! The overtime victory for CAK was hard earned! Queue, we are the district champs for CAK!    It's simple, Sophie battles! The softball standout does whatever is needed on the basketball court too! She continues to rebound exceptionally well! She finished well around the rim and did exactly what was asked of her! She set the hard screens and she truly does all of the dirty work.     Colie is an incredibly smart athlete! She is definitely one of the athletes with an extremely high IQ! I love how she stops and pops! Thompson can light it up from anywhere on the court. You have to remain true to her even when she is over 5 feet from behind the 3 point line. She knocked down the first 3 of the second half. She then made a beautiful drive and score. The lefty had 5 quick points to start the 2nd half. She can score extremely fast! We don't talk about her court vision enough. She has elite court vision! We also don't talk about her defense enough. She made the best defensive play of the game tying the ball up and getting her team the ball with 1.7 seconds left. The game comes to her naturally and she continues to prove why she is a top athlete in our state!     The first and second quarter pass from Thompson to Braden was a highlight! Maddie is a different talent that is athletically gifted. She has great length and can hang in the air with anyone! She's crafty and fun to watch. Defensively, she uses her length and active hands to create turnovers and steals. Can we mention the beautiful block that she made in the 2nd quarter? She continues to do it all on the court! She was exceptional with finding the open spot and getting numerous buckets that she made look easy! Remember, "Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision." Braden is the district tournament MVP champion!     Whited played an exceptional defensive game. She is the athlete that does all of the little things for her team. She dives for the loose balls. She gets after it on both ends non-stop. She can score too! She may have hit one of the most crucial 3's of the game in the 3rd quarter to pull her team within one point. Scratch that, she hit the most crucial 3 in the 4th quarter to tie the game! The game doesn't go to overtime without Karlie nailing the 3's! I was left incredibly impressed by the play of Karlie.     Burns was able to draw so much attention that it helped free her teammates. Burns is the ultimate competitor that continues to show why she is elite. Every time she moves without the ball, she moves with a purpose! She cuts hard, and she continues to be an exceptional two-way athlete! Despite the loss, Nya will have her team in position to get the next one!     Roberts said, I know y'all like to talk about my excellent mid-range, but never forget that I can dial them up from down town too! Roberts hit numerous threes in the first half! She continues to be the MONSTER that I talked about before. She forced numerous turnovers again. She is one of the most consistent and efficient athletes on the court at all times. She made a beautiful drive to the basket to complete the old-fashioned 3 point play in overtime to pull her team within 2 at the 1:16 mark. She gave it all she had, as she always does!     Duvall got on the board first for Grace. She made a beautiful drive and took the foul, going 1-2 in the first quarter. A'Niyah is the rebounding machine! She's strong and continues to play physical! She did another nice drive in the second quarter to draw another foul and get to the line. In the 3rd quarter, she hit the mid-range and the corner 3. She was able to stretch the floor for Grace! Keep your eyes on Duvall!
