<p>On <strong>March 4<sup>th</sup></strong> the Girls Open Division semifinals were played at <strong>Mountain Pointe </strong>high school. In the first game it was #9 <strong>Valley Vista</strong> taking on #5 <strong>Pinnacle</strong>. From the tip off Valley it was obvious that <strong>Valley Vista</strong> wanted to push the tempo, and they were effective at it. They jumped out to a 39-13 lead at halftime. To add injury to insult <strong>Pinnacle</strong> lost their starting point guard seven minutes into the game. The second half was much as the same as every time <strong>Pinnacle</strong> tried to make a run, Valley answered with a run of their own.<strong> Valley Vista</strong> won the game running away<strong> 68-45</strong>.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Tysyn got in a groove early on and never looked back. She hit three pointers as well as floaters throughout the game. She also dropped some beautiful dimes off to teammates. She finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The GCU commit did what she could despite facing a wall of defenders constantly. When she did get touches, she was effective around the basket. She still finished with 15 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The freshman came up big for the Monsoon. She played solid defense in the paint. Emma also displayed a versatile offensive skill set. She showed that she can step out and hit the perimeter shot with ease.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sloan came out in the 2<sup>nd</sup> half and did what she could give her team a boost. She hit two big threes that seemed if they might give the Pioneers some much needed energy.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Jada gave her team energy the entire game. She was always on the move both on offense and on defense. She constantly made herself available to her teammates by sprinting up court. Her energy gave her team extra possessions.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Murray was applying pressure on the defense from the opening tip. Her aggressiveness set the offensive tone for Valley as she constantly had the defense on their heels. The lefty got into the lane pretty much any time that she wanted to. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Neal played a good all-around game and might have been the defensive player of the game. Every player she guarded she was up on them looking to take the ball. She finished with a game high four steals and countless other deflections.</p>
