March is here, which means it's time for the latest quarterly rankings update. With regard to the Class of 2025, this is the final time they will be updated, as they will move to the archives over the Summer. Below is a look at the top Combo Guards in the state, with a handful of standouts and newcomers highlighted below that.

[player_tooltip player_id='1218670' first='Addy' last='Puckett'], 2025, 5'7 CG, Monroe Central H.S. - In her four years for the Golden Bears, Addy didn't experience a losing season. In fact, this year, they were 20-7 overall and won their first Sectional since 2019. She is a nice all-around athlete, she can play on or off the ball, and she is a nice defensive player as well. She can make an open jumper, but she's much better attacking the basket off the bounce. She's also an effective rebounder as a guard. This season, Addy averaged 9.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.6 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='875459' first='Danica' last='Barnes'], 2025, 5'6 CG, Elkhart H.S. - Danica is a talented run-and-jump athlete. She has great stop & start ability, bounce, and quickness. She has an athletic frame, really nice length, and she can serve multiple purposes for her team. She is able to attack, get gaps, and put pressure on the defense, finding open teammates or finishing at the rim. She can also make an open rhythm jumper when set. Defensively is where I think she can excel, whether she is defending the ball-handler or playing passing lanes one pass away.

[player_tooltip player_id='324078' first='Joslyn' last='Marshall'], 2025, 5-9 CG, Heritage Christian H.S. - After an outstanding Spring & Summer in 2024, Joslyn followed it up by helping the Lady Eagles to a Class 2A Semi-State appearance. She is a scoring threat from all areas of the floor, and she has shown to be an effective 3-point shooter. At the same time, she has good ball skill, the ability to handle pressure, and she can find open teammates in positions to score, especially in transition or off the attack. Last I heard, she had some NAIA interest, but she remains uncommitted as far as I know.

[player_tooltip player_id='324079' first='Samara' last='Miller'], 2025, 5-7 CG, Floyd Central H.S. - Samara was a key part of a strong 23-5 season for the Highlanders, a season in which they won their first Sectional title since 2010. She is a good perimeter shooter, a fairly fluid and smooth athlete, and she can also attack the basket straight-line for scores. Samara has good ball skill, she can initiate the offense, and she is a willing passer. I'm still trying to figure out how she will translate to the next level defensively, but she is a high IQ ballplayer, and she plays with a nice motor and quiet toughness.
