About Catherine
Expert Analysis
Tony Ragulen | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Young is another prospect with good size to keep your eyes on. The stretch five out of Eden Prairie rim runs with the best of them and has primarily made her bones operating around the basket. On Sunday, she showed she’s been working to expand her game, confidently letting it fly from beyond the arc. Young seems to understand that in today’s game, you can’t be a one-trick pony. You have to have layers to your game. Catherine still battles on the boards and guards around the rim with vigor, but it was refreshing to see her step outside and show off the work she’s put into her perimeter game. Young is still relatively unknown, but that won’t last long if she continues adding to her bag. The more versatile she becomes, the more her stock will rise.
