My AAU season kicks off this weekend in Romeoville, Illinois. More Wisconsin kids and teams are playing down there this weekend than I can remember in my three years at the event. Since the event isn't a live period, meaning no D1 schools can attend in person. I wanted to highlight a few kids for D2s, D3s, NAIAs, and JUCOs to watch at the event. Today, we'll look at 17U kids to keep tabs on.

The Xavier guard has a promising spring and summer AAU season outlook. She's past her previous injuries, and her confidence has grown since returning to the floor around a year ago. Krull was the go-to scoring option for a Hawks team that made their second consecutive trip to the D3 state title game. I've loved her willingness to be aggressive off the dribble, find pockets of space to get her shot from moving away from the ball and make shots consistently. Krull can flip a game on its head if she finds a groove.

You usually don't get much from someone you specifically go to watch in a snowstorm when they're down 21-4 in eight minutes. I'd liked Dahl before the Deerfield game at Brodhead, but I loved her as a player after that game. However, Dahl's competitiveness and leadership stood out like a sore thumb. The Rock Valley Conference Player of the Year consistently found her teammates for open looks, attacked the rim, and was productive on a night where nothing went right. She's an excellent player. That said, Dahl is also a person coaches will love in their locker room.

I remember Glysch being a JV kid at the start of her freshman season, and now she's a starter for a team that played in a state title game. She's developed from being a spot-shooter to a versatile off-ball guard who can attack the basket and make perimeter shots at a high level. The lefty has become a kid that high-level D3 programs will take a close look at, and scholarship programs should watch her for at least a game to see if there could be a role for her at that level. However, I think multiple WIAC programs will be all over her this summer.

Few kids can do what Koch can do consistently. She's an oddball of a prospect with the way basketball is moving, but she makes it work. Koch is an elite mid-range scorer possessing multiple ways to find looks that work for her. She's a physical kid and uses her footwork to create enough space to get her shots off. Koch makes things that are difficult look rudimentary. There's a role for her at the next level.
