Camila had a true breakout weekend by stepping into an increased role and producing against elite competition in a way that turned heads. At 5’10, she flashed real three-level scoring ability, consistently attacking downhill, getting to the rim, and putting pressure on defenses throughout the weekend. Her expanded offensive role highlighted her confidence and versatility when showing she can create and capitalize in multiple ways. On the defensive end, she stayed active and brought relentless effort every possession and impacted the game beyond just scoring. With this kind of performance on a bigger stage, Camila is positioning herself as a clear stock riser in Florida’s 2028 class.

was one of the top Sophomores in the building, and her poise, control, and performance under pressure were impressive. Velasco was a player who did a little of everything. She moved the ball well, played in sync with her teammates, handled the ball well, and hit some timely shots in a very close and competitive game where each possession mattered. What separated Velasco was her composure and feel for the game. She never looked rushed, played within herself, and contributed across the board. Her all-around performance reflected a high ball IQ and a player who plays well beyond her age.

Camila jumps into the Top 30 as a key contributor on one of the best teams in the state while competing against a demanding schedule. She excels in her role, relying on strong fundamentals, pace, and decision-making rather than forcing plays. Her skill set shows through things like a smooth hesi, a clean spin move, and dimes to her teammates for great looks. An elite passer with great handles, she gets to the rim with purpose, stays strong through contact, and converts and-one opportunities. She also impacts the game by crashing the offensive glass and scoring in multiple ways, including deep threes, runners, and long-stride finishes in traffic.

Cami excels at playing her role and relies on strong fundamentals rather than forcing plays. She showcased that skill set with a beautiful hesitation dribble into a baseline drive and finished it with a bounce pass for an assist. She also displayed a nice shot fake followed by a spin move and bucket which highlighted her poise and craftiness on offense. Her vision and pace within the flow of the game allow her to log significant minutes as an underclassmen.

Camila has been bumped up a few spots after after a strong summer and an impressive showing at the Sophomore ID Camp. I expect her to be a healthy contributor on a talented Doral team in South Florida after some pieces leaving due to graduation and transfer. She should step into a much bigger role this season as one of the most versatile players in this class that makes those better around her.

Camila might have been the biggest stock riser for me during camp. She’s an elite passer with great handles that allow her to get to the rim. On the way to the rim, she’s strong with the ball and hit a nasty hesi on her defender during 3×3 that led to a successful And 1. During 5×5, she crashed the offensive glass with purpose and was scoring it from all over with the deep ball, hitting runners, and using her long strides to glide past defenders.

Camila is one of the biggest stock risers in the 2028 class as her versatility in nearly unmatched in this class. Her length allows her to play taller on the court, and she strides out well to use her length to get into the right spots on the floor on both ends. She can use both hands effectively which helps her stand out, and she can pass it well with either hand with some of the best court vision in this class.

Camila is one of the most skilled 2028’s I’ve seen this spring. She plays with some swagger and uses her long frame to stride out which helps her get through defenders or get into passing lanes on the other end. Her court vision and passing with either hand make her one of the most talented guards in terms of distributing and sharing the rock. Camila has a smooth spin move in her bag and made some really tough one-handed passes with her left hand when I’ve seen her. Going to be a name to monitor with her unique game that’s basically ambidextrous!
