If anyone knows my style I am a defense to offense type coach. These 5 players were fun to watch get after their opponents. A defensive 5 count, block or charge gets a coach fired up! It is a momentum changer that could turn a game around. Defensive is what you bring every night event on your off offensive night. I threw in 2 post players in lockdown defense cause they were not going to give up anything easy at the rim. Tag me with those highlights at X @coachjvick1 or follow IG @coach_jvick

When you speak of ball pressure this weekend and not giving up any space at all Jaciah was that person this weekend. Played the second line of the press and showed great timing on jumping the next passing lane for the steal. Made the correct reads off the steal which lead to points off turnovers. A guard that has very quick lateral footwork working the ball handler side to side not giving up any gap drives. The ball pressure was like that of a corner back in football. It was quick, physical and not going to get beat.

A scrappy on the ball defender that just stay in arm's length not giving up any ground. Showed great timing on when to go for the steal when guarding the ball handler. Defender that played with emotion and taking pride in her defense. Off the ball she worked through the down screens not to get slowed down any of jumping the passing lane. If there were any 50/50 balls she was on the floor and in the mix.

Ava on the ball defense would best be described as that water bug. No matter what move the ball handler used they could not shake her. Just seemed as if she was in the ball handler pocket the whole way down the floor. Great body control to pressure the ball and recover with the chest not giving up any direct layups. A very exciting player to watch on defense as she played with energy.

A 6'0 long forward that was a force inside with the way of block shots or changing shots. I added the Power Forward to my lock down list. All those that drove to the basket was put on notice that no shot was going to be easy. Great hops and timing resulted in a block or altered shot without the foul. The presence of a shot blocker at the rim allowed the guard to be more aggressive on the ball.

A power forward that is on this list because of her shot blocking ability in the paint. No easy shots were going to happen on CC watch. Great IQ of understanding help rotation on drives to away any open layups. At times she changed a shot by just being a tall wall. The one thing that is different about this power forward is she a force at the point of the full court press. Quick feet made it difficult to get ball in and if did the trap was coming. Her paint presence and point of trap added her to this list
