NW Hoop Summit: 2027 Standout Guards

The Tropics went home champions after defeating the Rain in a close final game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched Sunday's action at the Beaverton Family YMCA. Hampton is effective in the pick-and-roll action and reads the defense to make the right play. She finished a clean and smooth floater from the baseline. Hampton has a perfectly timed and weighted bounce pass to assist her teammate in the 2v1 transition play. James gets downhill with speed and deft lateral movement, and she hangs for the athletic finish at the rim. Her midrange catch-and-shoot is nice. She held the pose after hitting a clutch three-pointer. She drives and dishes, and she finds the back door cut. James has a motor, pushes the pace, and runs the floor in both directions. Larry can shake and bake on the perimeter to blow by. She can dish or finish at the rim. She eurosteps through traffic, draws the foul, and spins the ball up on her way down for the and-1. She anticipates the offensive rebound and hangs for the putback. Larry is aggressive on defense and is quick to help or close out.
