Myla Larry Myla Larry 5'8" | CG Union | 2027 State WA (Mymy), a crafty guard from Union High School (WA), possesses one of the best court visions I’ve seen all summer. She consistently puts her teammates in positions to succeed with her exceptional passing, unselfish play, and ability to read the floor. Whether she’s penetrating and kicking to an open shooter or spinning through the lane to finish at the rim, Myla plays with poise, creativity, and purpose.

Myla played with the Northwest Greyhounds 17U Adidas 3SSB squad all summer, and her coach, Buck Buchanan, discussed that since joining his program Myla was able to unleash her creativity, freedom, and a refuse to lose mindset into the spring/summer season.

Beyond her skill set, Myla’s energy is contagious. She is an outstanding teammate who brings enthusiasm from the bench and carries that same determination, grit, hustle, and heart onto the court every time she checks into the game. Her love for the game is evident in the way she competes and elevates those around her.

As I am writing this article, I just learned Myla has committed to Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN). CSUN is so lucky to have Myla, someone whose unselfishness, basketball IQ, and team-first mentality make everyone around her better and contribute to winning basketball.

Myla is a quick guard who does a great job at flying all around the court and being able to make impactful plays on the defensive end. She reads offenses quickly, cutting off passes in the passing lanes often which leads to easy transition buckets for herself or her teammates. She always keeps her eyes up to see teammates leaking out for easy buckets and also delivers great passes to players running full speed down the court. 

Myla is one of the premier defenders in the entire state, known for her ability to control the game with her relentless pace. She excels at pushing the tempo, forcing opposing teams to adapt to her quick speed. Myla’s deep shooting range adds an offensive edge, while her transition game prowess allows her to finish strong through contact. Her combination of defensive dominance and offensive versatility makes her an invaluable asset on the court.

Myla is a disciplined guard who plays with great control, relying on strong fundamentals to anchor her game. Her excellent ability to finish in the paint makes her a constant scoring threat, even against tough defenses. In transition, she excels by breaking away for easy layups, capitalizing on fast-break opportunities. Her versatility allows her to seamlessly adapt to multiple positions, making her an invaluable asset on the court.

Excellent at playing on the move and a really creative passer. She’s been one of their top playmakers this season with her ability to work off the bounce, attack the hoop, and get her teammates the ball in good spots. Also a key defender for them with her on-ball pressure and quick hands. She’s averaging 14.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.9 steals per game this winter.

Larry had a big season for Union last winter as their number two scorer and playmaker. She brings real toughness to the floor on both ends and has some excellent creativity and vision on the offensive end. She’s a big threat to work off the dribble and get into the paint with great footwork and the strength to play through contact. Her balance and array of quick moves while working downhill make her a tough player to keep away from the rim.

Myla Larry Myla Larry 5'8" | CG Union | 2027 State WA is a talented junior from Union High School. She’s a strong combo guard that can attack the hoop and get to the rim quickly. She’s tough on defense and is known for locking up opponents and stealing the rock. Whenever I watch Myla, also known as “MyMy,” she’s always a thrill to witness.
This weekend she played with NW Reign, coached by well-known Matthew Conboy. Their team gave us some high-impact action on the court. She knows how to handle the ball well and shake off defenders with spin moves that open up space for her in the paint. She’s a great shooter and she passed some amazing dimes to her teammates to help them win with ease. It will be an exciting season to watch her play with her fellow teammate, Brooklynn Haywood Brooklynn Haywood 5'9" | PG Union | 2026 State #24 Nation WA . Between the two of them, this dynamic duo is looking to be among the top front-runners for a state championship at Union.

Northwest Reign 5-foot-8 combo guard Myla Larry Myla Larry 5'8" | CG Union | 2027 State WA popped every game and played at a level above most players at the West Coast Spring Showcase. The Union junior (2026) is a strong athlete with smooth handles, excellent vision, and explosive lateral movement. She can finish around the rim, rebound on both ends, and play smart and tough defense. She makes the extra pass and just makes everyone around her better. Larry is the gem in the gym weekend after weekend at the local HoopSource tournaments. If she can add “efficient three-point shooter” to her bag, she’ll go far.

NW Reign combo guard Myla Larry Myla Larry 5'8" | CG Union | 2027 State WA has speed, smooth handles, and excellent instincts to make flashy plays. Larry can shake and bake on the perimeter to blow by. She can dish or finish at the rim. She eurosteps through traffic, draws the foul, and spins the ball up on her way down for the and-1. She anticipates the offensive rebound and hangs for the putback. Larry is aggressive on defense and is quick to help or close out. She boxes out strong and is a plus rebounder.

Union is right up there with the top teams in the 4A, losing just two games on the year by a combined three points to two of the other top teams in the class (Davis, Camas). Larry is a pretty dynamic guard who can help score the rock and set up teammates, shows some good creativity when attacking the paint and finding passes on the go, and has some toughness that translates to hustle rebounds.
