Day One Standouts at Lakepoint

Teams from the Southeast and all over the country merge into Northwest GA to hoop all weekend long. She has really nice size and shoots it well from all over with a high/quick release. Alana can also get to the rim and does a fantatic job of pushing the ball in transition. She has solid length and height for her position and utilized both of those advantages all game long. On defense, she picked the PG's pockets a couple times &amp; also used her length to get into passing lanes for steals or at least deflections. On Friday, she showed off her quickness and her handles which make her so hard to contain. Those handles matched with her hesi move allowed her to get downhill with ease with that change of speed. She's long, agile, and keeps a lot of plays alive for her team. On Friday, she did a really nice job of getting to the basket with her dribble and using her length and athleticism to score it. She did a great job of getting to and finishing at the rim with either hand. Her mixture of finesse and strength will keep her near the top of this 2029 class in Georgia for years to come. I have not seen her play before, but her shooting was clearly one of her strong suits and makes her stand out in this 2029 class. Her motor, speed, and decision making are all high-level. She can handle the rock, hit the baseline jumper, or make the right pass. On defense, she uses that length to snag some steals by reading the offenses eyes and next move. On offense, she gets the team set up and can really control the pace for her squad. She has a tough mid-range fadeaway that is nearly impossible to guard. She has nice handles, plays with a shifty game, and is really bouncy on the court.
