Alana is one of the better shooters and wings in the loaded 2029 class in Georgia. I have seen her play a lot and know she is a competent and capable scorer who is decisive when she gets the basketball. So it was great to see her play in a completely different role at the Sophomore ID Camp. Alana ran the point position for a good chunk of their games, especially leading her team out on the break. Imari Thompson Imari Thompson 5'11" | CG Luella | 2029 State GA and others became the beneficiaries. As they sprinted out in transition, Alana kept her head up, extended the basketball out in front of her with push dribbles, and then surveyed the floor before finding one of her talented teammates for an easy score. DeWitt herself took advantage of easy scoring opportunities when they were, but not forcing shots trying to pad her stats which some players do in these events. When I asked her father Derrick, who coaches Marietta about the upcoming school schedule I was excited to hear they will be playing in more big time exposure events this season where she will continue to show her skills and versatility to the college coaches that will be watching.

Poised and confident shooting guard that is an elite player at an early age. She is a knock down shooter from everywhere on the court. Alana has a nice stoke and can score at all three levels. She has good length that also can cause mismatches on the defensive end and on the glass. Looking forward to watching this young lady continue to develop.

Alana shot the ball extremely well, especially from the corners for Marietta. She really moves well without the ball and does a great job spotting up for kick out threes and calling for the ball when her teammates penetrate the defense. DeWitt gets her shot off fast and has a high release point. At almost six feet tall as a Freshman, Alana already has the desired size to play major college basketball. Being the daughter of a coach, she has a very high basketball IQ and already understands the game at a young age. I expect continued improvement from Alana and more division one offers in the next few years.

This was my first time really watching Alana and she is clearly one of the top 2029’s in Georgia. She has really nice size and shoots it well from all over with a high/quick release. Alana can also get to the rim and does a fantatic job of pushing the ball in transition. High upside with this 2029 in GA!

Juice is a knockdown shooter with nice size. She’s an elite floor spacer who is getting better and better off the dribble. South Alabama offered in May. DeWitt will play a huge role for Marietta playing alongside blue-chip sister Leah.
