One of the unique benefits of our Michigan State Tournament was that every age group and travel club had an equal opportunity to be seen, evaluated, and covered by our Prep Girls Hoops Michigan scouting team, with all teams playing a minimum of four games at the same fieldhouse (several teams played five games). College coaches and Midwest Recruiting Resource were in the building both days, which amplified the quality of the experience for the teams and athletes.

Our championship bracket format allowed teams from every age group to compete for the ultimate prize of Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament Champion. Seeing the victorious teams holding their massive, glistening basketball trophy, while smiling in their tournament champion t-shirts, was a reminder of why I love Prep Girls Hoops and the memorable experiences we provide at our tournaments.

Kaylee grabbed my attention in the night cap game Saturday with her scrappy defensive pressure, toughness, and confidence shooting the jumper. Kaylee exploded downhill and banked in a tough and-one floater through hard contact. She kept the ball rolling Sunday with B.1.C.E. 14U. Kaylee drove with a burst downhill and dropped in a floater over defenders off two feet. She drilled a corner three and converted free throws. Kaylee swiped down quickly on the ball to deflect it away, pursued rebounds, and took a steal full-speed the other way for a layup in overtime. She zipped one-handed passes to open teammates and had a great weekend at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. She helped the squad to a 3-2 record with an O.T. loss vs. [program_tooltip program_id='713446' first='Hardwood' last='Midwest']. Kaylee earned an All-Tournament selection with her excellence on the court this weekend.

Madison was absolutely electric for MBA 14U Robinson at our PGH Michigan State Tournament this weekend. Her shifty handles and sudden change of direction created space to pass, shoot, and drive towards the basket. Madison was a sniper from 3-point distance with methodical triples in the corners and up top. She blew by defenders in transition to score multiple fast-break layups in top gear with her left hand and dropped in floaters with a soft touch. Her ball transfers between hands were lightning quick. Madison chased the ball sideline to sideline with relentless effort to cause turnovers and create steals. She made great reads and strong passes to teammates. Madison was an active communicator and a sparkplug all tournament. She helped MBA 14U Robinson bring home the Championship trophy with an undefeated record. Madison is our 2025 14U All-Tournament MVP, congratulations!

Kathleen was dominant for MBA 14U Robinson at our PGH Michigan State Tournament this weekend. She wasn't afraid to fire from beyond the arc, dished quick passes to open teammates, and knocked a confident straightaway triple off the bounce. Kathleen drove hard downhill to score layups with both hands--she scored with a high-pick-up move off two feet. Kathleen made an emphatic block, scored strong offensive rebound put backs, and was a constant rebounding presence. She energized her teammates with high-fives and positive communication. Kathleen motored down the lane through traffic, missed her initial contested layup, immediately leaped up to grab the rebound, and scored the tough athletic put back off two feet in the crowd--I love seeing that no-quit mindset! Kathleen had a breakout tournament that helped MBA 14U Robinson to an undefeated record and championship victory. She looks like a prospect booming with potential and earned All-Tournament this weekend.

Makenzie checked all the boxes this weekend and was productive in every aspect for MBA 14U Robinson at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. She demonstrated excellent helpside defensive awareness, jumping passes to grab steals in addition to on-ball pressure. Makenzie sprinted out quickly to block shots on the perimeter and leaped up to corall rebounds at it's highest point. She pushed the ball with pace, using both hands in transition and dished an extra pass assist to a cutting teammate. Makenzie drove with a burst downhill to score layups and swished a wing three. She scored offensive rebound put backs and knocked down free throws. Makenzie made a clear impact on both sides of the ball and earned All-Tournament honors, while helping MBA 14U Robinson take the title with an undefeated record.

Aubri was an assassin from 3-point range and one of the most impressive point guards at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. Aubri is a true competitor who showed next-level heart and determination. When the championship game margin became insurmountable, Aubri never let up. She closed out hard to block a 3-pointer on the perimeter, sprinted down the floor, and drained a pure corner triple on the next possession. Aubri was a magician with the ball in her hands, creating space with shifty behind the back crossover combinations to shoot and drive. Aubri chased down a layup from behind to deflect the ball away and took the ball hard to the basket to cause a foul. She pursued offensive rebounds, tied up the ball on defense, and delivered the knockout punch in overtime of the semifinals. Aubri caught a pass on the wing, used a sudden rip move, and split defenders with a burst to score the game winning layup. Aubri helped [program_tooltip program_id='713446' first='Hardwood' last='Midwest'] 14U to a 3-1 record, Finals appearance, and deserves special recognition as All-Tournament.

Katie unleashed her inner beast in the paint for MBA 14U Robinson at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. I wrote down that Katie was "tough" in the paint and she battled on defense to keep opposing posts uncomfortable. Katie rebounded the ball with strong hands and out-muscled her defender to score an offensive rebound put back through a foul--knocked down her free throw. Katie imposed her will with a fierce block and finished another layup off two feet. She dished a great hammer pass down the baseline and was one of the most promising front-court prospects over the weekend. Katie earned All-Tournament honors and her outstanding play helped MBA 14U take home the title with an undefeated record.
