Katie was one of the stronger, taller, and most physical forwards at the Headliners Invitational Showcase. Her mobility, toughness, and aggressive style wear down opponents on both ends of the court. She finished well with her left off two feet, used textbook box-out technique to secure rebounds, drove assertively to the basket to score a layup, made her presence felt as a rebounder, and knocked down a free throw with confidence after forcing the defense to send her to the line. Her high motor and imposing strength make it a challenge for defenders to keep her from getting the inside advantage. Katie can step outside and shoot the three; she’ll be a force for Saranac this winter.

Katie turned in an impressive effort at the MBA Train and Play recently. Her versatility, mobility, physical strength, ability to get downhill and finish through contact at the rim, relentless effort as a rebounder, footwork, defensive tenacity, and effectiveness in the screen and roll/pick and pop will create matchup problems for opposing forwards at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday. She’ll be a top forward prospect to watch at the event.

Katie delivered a complete performance at the MBA Train and Play that caught my attention. She encouraged others by high-fiving teammates in the drills, came to the ball and shouted outlet, then fired strong lead passes up the court. Katie caught passes with good hands, took one dribble, then powered up off two to finish high. She moved well and closed out hard to block a shot attempt on the perimeter. Katie faced up and attacked downhill on a hard drive from the perimeter, then finished the athletic layup under control at the rim. She made a smart basket cut, caught the pass, pivoted to create a scoring angle, shielded the ball with her body, then went up strong for the bucket off two feet. Katie showed her range by sinking a three from the top of the key. She’s a physical and versatile forward who consistently competes at maximum effort on the court to make an impact in every statistical category. Katie gives Saranac a clear advantage in their front court.

Katie is a player I would love to see at The Expo because of the strength, athleticism, and energy she brings to the frontcourt. She is a tough matchup around the basket with the ability to score in different ways, whether she is working with her back to the basket or facing up and attacking off the dribble. Katie plays through contact, puts pressure on the defense around the rim, and has a knack for earning trips to the free-throw line. She also brings a strong presence on the glass, consistently competing for rebounds and creating additional opportunities for her team. Defensively, Katie can hold her own in the post and use her strength and mobility to make things difficult inside. She has already put together some impressive performances this spring, and her combination of physical tools, interior production, and developing versatility makes her a player I would love to see competing at The Expo.

Katie had another memorable showing on the PGH Circuit this spring. She delivered a Gold Championship Game MVP performance for MBA UA Rise 15U at the Michigan State Tournament. Katie has another gear that she competes in on the court, which combines with her physical strength, athleticism, and mobility to give opponents more than they can handle in the paint. She’s very effective with her back to the basket or as a face-up driver. Katie doesn’t stop until she gets to the free throw line or puts the ball through the hoop. She’s a relentless rebounder and a very good defender in the post. Katie can develop into a stretch four by expanding her perimeter game, which will make her even more appealing as a next-level prospect.

Katie gave MBA UA Rise 15U an edge in the paint throughout the PGH Michigan State Tournament with her fierce effort, physicality, tough finishes, stout defense, and rebounding presence. She made strong catches in the paint, finished off two feet, and cut to the basket for catch-and-finish layups. Katie worked hard to deny entry passes into the post and sealed her defender with a strong stance to win her one-on-one matchups. Katie muscled her way to the doorstep, leading to many offensive rebound putbacks. In the Championship Game, Katie led the team in scoring. She powered through contact to score contested buckets and earned trips to the foul line. Katie’s interior play on the offensive and defensive end was crucial to the victory, leading to a 15U Gold Championship Game MVP selection in addition to All-Tournament First Team honors.

Katie used her length effectively for Team 9 at the PGH Freshman Showcase, disrupting plays with deflections and blocking shots around the rim. She finished strong inside with good footwork and touch, while also showing her versatility by stepping out and knocking down a three. Her ability to contribute in multiple ways made her a valuable presence on both ends of the floor.

Katie was a First-Team All-Tournament selection at the PGH Michigan State Tournament, and she’s off to a terrific start for Saranac this summer. Katie unleashed her energy and gave the team a spark at the Big North Shootout. She closed out quickly to block shots, deflected passes, and caused turnovers with her aggressive pressure. Katie took a steal the other way to score a left-handed layup and did it again for another breakaway layup off two feet. She drove down the baseline and threw a perfect hammer pass to a wide-open teammate in the opposite corner for a three.

Katie unleashed her inner beast in the paint for MBA 14U Robinson at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. I wrote down that Katie was “tough” in the paint and she battled on defense to keep opposing posts uncomfortable. Katie rebounded the ball with strong hands and out-muscled her defender to score an offensive rebound put back through a foul–knocked down her free throw. Katie imposed her will with a fierce block and finished another layup off two feet. She dished a great hammer pass down the baseline and was one of the most promising front-court prospects over the weekend. Katie earned All-Tournament honors and her outstanding play helped MBA 14U take home the title with an undefeated record.
