As a freshman, Filipe and her Millers were West Albany’s toughest challenge to overcome all season. Springfield came up just three points shy of its fourth state title, and Filipe’s 26 points and eight boards were the main reason why. She plays a stellar inside-outside game that can’t really be defined by one position. One possession, she’s hitting you with a dream shake in the post, and the next, she’s handling the ball above the break. She confidently shoots over the defense every time they leave her open for a turnaround mid-range shot. She runs the floor in transition and does not get pushed around on defense or in rebounding battles. There are very few holes in her game, and she was recently rewarded with a Division I offer from UNLV. Filipe has spent the summer hooping for Matt Sanders’s Oregon Top Prospects 16U team, where she scored 19.5 points a game on the New Balance circuit.

Nuari brings a strong, physical frame and a versatile offensive package that allows her to score at all three levels, with particular effectiveness in the mid-range and as a floor spacer. She has shown the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter while also creating her own looks off the bounce and finishes off two feet when needed. Her body control is next level. On the defensive end, she rebounds well for her position and consistently plays with effort and physicality, making her a reliable two-way presence. Her overall versatility continues to make her an intriguing long-term prospect in the West region.

Nuari Filipe Nuari Filipe 6'0" | SF/PF Springfield | 2029 State OR led the way in No. 2 Springfield’s 67-47 state quarterfinal win over No. 7 Crook County on Thursday, putting up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the Millers’ state semifinal win (55-50) over No. 3 South Albany on Friday night. The D1-level prospect has shown that she is the top player in the class of 2029. She’s a three-level scoring threat and can play inside and out on both ends. Filipe led the Millers in scoring in her freshman season, averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. She was named to the Midwestern League First Team. Springfield will meet No. 5 West Albany in the 5A state final on Saturday night.

Nuari Filipe Nuari Filipe 6'0" | SF/PF Springfield | 2029 State OR has proven to be an impact freshman for Springfield during the preseason. She led the MIllers in scoring with 18 efficient points in a road win against 4A-ranked Cascade on Tuesday. Filipe is smooth and under control on the bounce and the pull-up jumper. She connected from three-point range and finished around the rim from the drive and posting up. Despite graduating Filipe’s older sister, Springfield returned a core group that will contend for the Midwestern League title against rival and reigning 5A state champion Crater.

Six-foot guard/forward Nuari Filipe Nuari Filipe 6'0" | SF/PF Springfield | 2029 State OR led FBC Oregon in scoring and rebounds this season. Filipe is a smooth mover with a strong frame and big presence inside. She is an efficient and dynamic scorer off the bounce and rebounds on both ends. Springfield’s incoming freshman received her first college offer from UNLV in June.
