Payton Webster Payton Webster Nelson | 2029 State OR truly stepped up during the night as a freshman combo guard for Nelson. She had some key turning point moments that helped keep Nelson within inches of an upset.
She knocked down a three-pointer in the first half, which helped chip away at the Astros’ lead. In the second half, she had a phenomenal rebound and reverse layup put back, which got the crowd back on their feet. Once again, Webster tightened the gap and kept pressure on.
Payton definitely brought intensity and heart to this matchup. As the niece to the opposing team’s coach, she put it all on the line in the family competition. In the end, there was a lot of love out on that court with hugs and strong emotions. It was truly something special to witness. I can say with confidence that we will most likely see these two teams again in the playoffs.

Payton Webster Payton Webster Nelson | 2029 State OR is a dominant guard and freshman for Nelson High School. As a young player, Payton has really stood out amongst her older peers. She has been competing with top talent on her club team for Jason Kidd Select and really making a name for herself in women’s basketball.

This past weekend she joined her sister Nylah Webster Nylah Webster 6'0" | SG Nelson | 2027 State OR and some other top talent from around the community. Together, they truly dominated and shined on the court. Payton is tenacious on defense. She had a lot of steals with her quick hands and footwork. She’s a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc. Don’t give her too much space or she’s bound to light up that court. Payton has a quick first step too and she was blowing past her defenders throughout the tournament. It will be exciting to watch her and her sister compete at Nelson together this upcoming season.
