The McFarland native is an excellent athlete who can use her athletic tools to flip a game on its head. Charbonneau is a lefty who can handle the ball and put pressure on the basket by getting downhill and forcing defenses to react to what she’s doing. It also helps that she’s a solid passer who has played quarterback in middle school and made reads on the field. It also showed how well she handled playing against physical players who were three or four years older than her in her first season of high school basketball. She’s among the more unique players to come from Wisconsin in recent memory.

The Madison-area native is an athletic kid who can make impact plays on the defensive end of the floor. Charbonneau reads the game well and jumps passing lanes, especially playing transition defense. She can cover ground in a hurry and plays aggressively on that end of the floor. She and her Wisconsin Lakers group were playing up an age level, which is nothing new to Charbonneau, and looked like she was more than comfortable with the physicality in the few games I saw her play.

The McFarland guard is among the most talented kids in the 2029 class around the state. Charbonneau is an athletic guard who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. I thought she did a solid job as the primary creator for the Spartans this past high school season and should be in a spot to thrive with the Wisconsin Lakers this coming spring and summer, playing UAA basketball. She will be fun to see develop and add to her game over the next few years.

The McFarland guard has all the athletic tools to become an effective lead guard who can make things happen with the ball in her hands. Her athleticism also leads me to believe that she has a defensive ceiling higher than most players in her class. She also has the confidence to make things happen agaisnt players who’ve been at the high school level for three years. Charbonneau is a player who can be one of the best in this class.
