Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Small guard, natural shooter both midrange and three, heavy defensive player will guard any position. (Best 1-4) Medium speed with a nice crossover and distributes the ball.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I always wanna believe that no girl on the court can get past me defensively, I strive to better myself and whatever team I am playing with. The game isn’t lost or won until the clock runs out.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’m currently apart of Afro AM club and yearbook club at my highschool. I am also a member of Toledo Excel group 36. I was just selected for Youth Leadership Toledo and vote Class Co-President of my sophomore class. This past season I was Co-Captain of my highschool basketball team. I received the Smed scholarship last June, which I plan to hold until I graduate.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through this past year, as we began to restore the girls basketball program at my school we had to find a groove in a team where some have never played, and some that have been playing the majority of their lives, and some that are just being to learn the language. Through it all I developed the skill of problem solving on and off the court. The trust they have put in me allows me to grow myself.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Growing I had severe asthma but my love for sports always outweighed my concern. I played soccer from grades 1-7. I had my first asthma attack when I was 11 and then they became 2 or 3 a year consistently. When I began playing basketball more seriously I realized something needed to change because it limited my time on the court. So for the past year I have been naturally curing my asthma.
What type of college are you looking for?
A college with a community atmosphere, not exactly sports center but where everyone’s talents are celebrated and appreciated. I eventually want to study Neuroscience so any school with a good, hands on science program. Basketball is my passion so a coach and program that can help me continue to elevate my game!
