Coach Marv’s Super 6: MD Lady HoopMasters College Showcase

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 8th annual <strong>Maryland Lady Hoopmasters College Showcase</strong> was held at McDaniel College on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The <strong>Maryland Lady Hoopmasters College Showcase </strong>featured over 40 players from various DMV &amp; PA High Schools and AAU programs. The event started with a welcome message from <strong>[program_tooltip program_id='714388' first='MD' last='Lady Hoopmasters']</strong> President LaTonya Hardy. After the warm welcome the players started the day with a dynamic warmup, skill stations, 3v3 game play and then ended the day with 5v5 competition. She was the most talented and skilled overall player at the showcase. She scored many different ways throughout the day and was able to get to the rim at will and finish difficult layups, runners and pull-up jump shots. Her competitive nature was on display as she picked up the ball defensively 94ft consistently throughout live game play. Sam is also an explosive athlete and had numerous blocked shots. Her ball handling and court awareness was exceptional during live game play, and she also showed her ability to step out and hit the 3. She plays beyond her years and has a high basketball IQ. During the drill portion of the showcase, she showed good speed and ball control. Olivia has a great midrange game and consistently hits 15-18ft jump shots. She is very unselfish and is a great passer in the halfcourt setting. Her court speed also allows her to get many easy layups in transition. During the drills and skills portion of the showcase she showed her lateral quickness and explosiveness. She is able to grab the rim and played most of the day up around the rim. Yinooli was very solid in the paint and finished the majority of her drop steps over her left shoulder. She was very active in the paint on the offensive and defensive side and was the best rebounder at the showcase. Yinooli can face up and attack and get by slower defenders. She demonstrated the ability to finish, handle the ball and shoot the 3 during the drill portion of the showcase. These skills immediately transferred over into the competition part of the day as Adrianna scored on the block and away from the basket. She possesses great footwork around the rim and smooth ball handling skills while attacking the rim off of the dribble. She is quick for her size and is very aggressive to the ball for rebounds. As a small forward she has the ability to stretch the defense all the way out to the 3-point line. Her face up game is sharp and she is consistently able to get her shot off from various spots on the court. Her quickness allows her to guard positions 3-5 and her length made her one of the best rebounders at the showcase. You would never know that she is only in the 8th grade. Olivia thrived against HS players the entire day. Her handle was one of the cleanest throughout the skills and drills portion of the showcase and she kept it going while competing later in live game play. She has an automatic mid-range jump shot and consistent 3-point shot. I was very impressed with her heart and composure handling the ball and making high level reads all day.
