Nearly 100 prospects competed on Sunday in the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase at Maple Grove Middle School. We'll be releasing the first ranking of the 2029 class in a few weeks – our annual Freshman 50 – and numerous players made a strong case that they should be included. We're publishing evaluations on all 10 teams in the event. This is the best of Team 9, part 2.

Rengstorf is a tough, competitive point guard who played in 26 varsity games last year as an 8th grader, averaging 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Not bad for a yougster who is expected to carry the mail for Nicollet for the next four seasons. Quick laterally, Zoie showed at the Freshman Showcase that she can be an on-ball pest who manufactures turnovers and stays in front of her matchup. She handles the ball with confidence, organizes effectively an offense, and thrives in catch-and-shoot spots. Limited in size but not in effect, Rengstorf's IQ, defense, and leadership make her a floor general of note.

Johnson is a versatile forward/guard with size, strength, and skill. Although she started slowly on Sunday morning, her potential became clear as the day went on. Brooke ran the floor, finished at the rim, and stretched defenses with her outside shot. Johnson showed that she can handle the ball, rebound, and adapt to varsity competition with STMA, where we're told she has more than held her own in summer ball. The biggest thing that will move Brooke up the Knights' pecking order is to be more aggressive at all times. She certainly has size and skill to make herself a highly valuable piece.

Kellett is a smaller guard who comes to the gym with natural quickness, a fighter's mentality, and a dose of flair in her repertoire. We were impressed by how Kendall was able to dribble her way out of trouble on more than one occasion. She created shots and pushed tempo to great effect. A pesky defender, she racked up several steals at the Showcase, turning defense into offense in a hurry. Consistent and confident, she showed off a reliable jumper to go with her creativity off the bounce. Wayzata is one of the toughest varsity rosters to crack, but if she continues to put in the work Kendall could get there eventually.

Fox is a lean, athletic forward/guard with nice shooting touch and solid facilitation skills. Keagan showed nice form and confidence from the outside while elevating impressively when she drove into the paint and took on a defender. A capable defender herself, Fox has good length, she moves well laterally and plays within herself. A little quiet on the court, she has room to grow in assertiveness. With continued confidence and aggression, Fox's natural athleticism and skill could open up opportunities on a rebuilding Andover squad.
